If you pay via Fast Track, then you have paid for the items and just need to go and pick them up. So you can pay £49.95 and that's done and paid for.
Reserving is different as it is the price you pay when you collect, which is a pain as it can catch you out when you do go to collect the item and as you say it has doubled in price again.

Yes same here, and you can almost guarantee that by the time they have them in store the price will be back up to £99
This has been out of stock at Currys for the last 2 days across North England and Scotland. I've had this many times before with Currys, they have no intention of selling the product at this price, and use it just to get traffic to their site hoping you will buy something else when there.
I seriously doubt you will see it come back in stock until the price has gone back up.

29 Dec 15#185
So I went into my local Currys today. I had given up on the Pebble but noticed the Pebble Steel was on offer, check online and in stock so said sod it and went in. I noticed no smartwatches on display so I asked, "Aw we don't keep them in stock, we order them in via our website" I thought to myself well whats the bloody point in that? I could just get it delivered to my house at that rate, and the fact it said "AVAILABLE FOR COLLECTION" I suppose they are telling the truth, it would be available for collection just not when you go in, they order them in as required.
Are all the store like this?
jayd95 to imarealbellend
29 Dec 15#186

It gives you the norificatioms of calls, texts, facebook etc. Can change songs on your wrist without having to take the phone out of the pocket. Can use it to track activities such as running, swimming and much more. It obviously shows the time and there is a thousands of watchfaces and apps to suit everyone. I bought it when it was £49 and wouldn't regret it, but now that it is on offer for £44.99 that's just amazing.

Thanks OP - ordered for click and collect a couple of hours ago and picked one up for my daughter as she asked for a smartwatch as one of her Christmas wish lists and this fit the bill perfectly.

i must say i got the oh this for xmas, im surprised (in a good way) how small it is, i thought he would think it was just a gimmick, but the more he uses it the more hes impressed, paired with his LGG4, when we were out he received a call (watch started vibrating and showed who was calling) the phone as usual wasn't making a sound or vibrating itself (finding these a bit of a pain as we are always missing calls & texts) shows up tweets and weather etc, bonus that it can skip songs as we haven't got the £100 pair of earphones capable of doing that yet, another plus is that he doesn't need to use the passcode on his phone when in range, just a swipe and it opens =) anymore advice on features/apps would be great.

My old watch gave up the ghost and I was quoted 75 quid for a new movement for it. On seeing it on offer, and, being an old man used to reading the time off my wrist, not digging my phone out of my pocket, thought I'd give it a whirl. And I love it, does what I need it to do with the bonus of picking up the notifications which I was forever missing.
In some jobs, it's not possible to have your phone out to read the time, we're not all paperclips sorters. So if that's not the case and you can have your phone visible all the time, fine, use that instead. Although Apple would prefer you to buy their watch

I've had a pebble steel, Sony Smartwatch 3 and I currently have an Apple Watch and an LG urbane (two phones) and I would suggest spending a little more and getting the Sony Smartwatch 3, especially if you have an android phone - the Pebble is nice and all but there is more functionality to an Android Wear device, and more still to an Apple Watch (though this is obviously only if you have an iPhone) truth is no one *needs* a Smartwatch, you can live life happily without one but they do make life a little easier - IMO the pebble original looks a bit plasticky too, the steel is a nice looking watch though

Its limited by the boundries of Bluetooth which is what it uses to communicate the the 2 devices. Roughly translated. not very far. Those complaining about the 7 days battery life, yes, its not great compared to a normal watch but compared to other Apple/Android smartwatches which needs charging at least every 2 days, its definitely a lot better.
Added bonus is, the battery is tiny, so its not like you need to charge it for hours. Once a week, charging for an hour isn't exactly time consuming.
cecilmcroberts to rayliuphotographer
25 Dec 15#55
Very tempted with this. Though it is funny, hour to charge a 130mAh battery, my phone has a 3450mAH and takes 90min full charge. But as you well point out alot better than other smartwatches which is something I always had against them in general.

I was bought one for my birthday 3 days ago and it's amazing! Only downside I can see is that the apps don't replace the native home screen with info so if you keep pressing back you end up at a standard watchface.
There are alot of apps you also need to download on your phone to work and a few pay walls for nice stuff but so far so good!

Nah mate, but that's a tech gear which is obviously much more different case than beans, and obviously about 50 times more expensive as well
Talking about this watch though, I hope that the other one that is currently on offer for 79 will be about 49 next black friday, will buy it as a replacement then.
Just looked at my quick guide leaflet that came with original pebble last time and I see that there's Manufacturers Warranty for 2 years, but why it states as a 1 year only on Currys website?

silly question but is this mens or women's or both?

Both. Its not tiny though so maybe slightly more suited to people with reasonable sized wrists.

this and the steel.. then I'll have a dilemma on my hands
Updating your software gives you several advantages:
More apps available to you in the Pebble appstore.
No more 8 app limit for your watch.
The number of apps it can hold will vary depending on their size and function, but you can expect dozens. Any apps that cannot be immediately stored on your Pebble Time will automatically be added to the "My Pebble" section of the mobile app for quick access.
Timeline apps that can incorporate information into your day.

Guys. We have big, huge, enormous news! Timeline, the easy-to-use chronological view of your day that comes standard on the Pebble Time family of watches, is now available to all Classic and Steel users with today's free software update.

Wow for this price, its even more VFM! I mean, you'll probably spend that much on a normal watch, so I just count the smart features as an added bonus. I got mine a month ago in the Black Friday Sales and since then the UI has been updated to include Timeline (the feature which was introduced since Pebble Time) and it's been given a new lease of life. Kudos to Pebble for keeping an old product alive.
Its a definite different proposition from what Apple Watch and Android Wear are doing with smartwatches, as in its a watch first and foremost.
I like the price and the e-ink screen, but no killer app! Just take the smart phone from your pocket and splendour the decent size screen...

The Pebble Time app does it all, the old app is there just to support legacy apps that haven't updated yet.

actually I have to concede that I was wrong - just looked on my iPhone and the app that controls the watch is indeed called pebble time. it's the standard app that contains the App Store, the watch faces etc..
it is an app PEBBLE TIME which allows you to use some features of Pebble time smartwatch!

You have to download the Pebble Time app though to enable timeline on the original Pebble, I think that's what they were getting at.

there is a new app Pebble Time- it adds additional features to original Pebble. It must be installed along with Pebble App.

it's not an app - the pebble time is the colour watch that was released after this. they've just updated the firmware to include all the timeline features for the earlier models.
but £44.99 is silly money - I'd be getting one if I didn't already have the pebble time

Recommend apps please? Thanks
Actually, it's bloody brilliant and simply don't leave the house without it. At this price just try it.

Can anyone tell me if I used this with RunKeeper can I start the activity using the watch? I like the fact I can change music tracks and receive texts via the watch.
Thank you
Reserving is different as it is the price you pay when you collect, which is a pain as it can catch you out when you do go to collect the item and as you say it has doubled in price again.

I seriously doubt you will see it come back in stock until the price has gone back up.
Are all the store like this?
I'm wondering if Argos will do this as a new year special. If not might need to try Amazon at 63.99
Any feedback much appreciated!
Patrick
I've seen a few pebble classic with different front face colours
https://dbrand.com/shop/pebble-watch
I nearly caved and went for the Steel but this is a bargain as a first foray into smartwatch land and the battery life is a major plus
Lol
Amazon cheapest at £66.
Anyway I never regretted it with pebble as I needed a watch plus doing the fancy things. 2 weeks battery for me as I shut it down when I am home
Hope that helps
First thoughts are that its very light weight and the charging magnetic clip could do with being a bit more magnetic as it drops off with very little force.
Opened it yesterday, set it up, updated the software, and gotta say it's actually very good. Love the display (very clear and readable), very tweakable, and works very well with my iPhone

Are they theoretically the same watch with slightly different designs, or does one watch have more features than the other?
I'd have got one from Argos but now back up to £99.99. Great deal at sub £50.
Also to answer my earlier question about the pebble and runkeeper...
You cannot explicitly start or stop an activity from the Pebble watch. Only pause-resume actions are possible.
Does anyone know if this is possible with a Sony Smart watch 3?
Can this run APK files? I remember reading that they might run android watch apps. Can this?
All a big choice depending on what you want and what you need. The Pebble for me fitted the bill.
I know, I've become too cynical.
Do you guys think I should switch to pebble? Feel like android wear is like a mobile phone attached to my wrist... I realised after purchasing it.
Thoughts from people who have both? Do you find that you're using the pebble more?
got mine for my birthday in december, didnt know I needed one and have to say they brilliant while I am at work and cant look at my phone.
In some jobs, it's not possible to have your phone out to read the time, we're not all paperclips sorters. So if that's not the case and you can have your phone visible all the time, fine, use that instead. Although Apple would prefer you to buy their watch

There is an unofficial app for Windows for this watch but it only allows the phone to sync and play music.
Added bonus is, the battery is tiny, so its not like you need to charge it for hours. Once a week, charging for an hour isn't exactly time consuming.
Heat added.
