Cost £2.06 and Microsoft took 30p.

For anyone interested I did these steps

1.Signed upto the free VyprVPN (you get 500mb a month) https://www.goldenfrog.com/vyprvpn
2.Downloaded the revolut app and deposited £10 using the one time MSE code which added £5 so £15 - Bonus!
3.Signed into xbox on the laptop and searched ori-clicked and was showing £8-then bottom left corner selected the Russian store (Pоссия)
4.Used translate to do what I could within chrome then when I entered the payment screen I just used the google translate app viewing text through my mobile. ,Put in my revolute account details,with my proper address,but I changed the city box to "Tomsk" and used postcode "634003"
5.before going any further I connected the VPN and selected Russia
6.clicked pay,all done

I am not sure if this is how everyone else does this,but I just wanted to try and do a step by step for how I did this and for anyone who is thinking this is complicated.

this game gets pretty demanding, and is well worth even the full price

Its "MSE" When you first sign up for the revolut account it asks if you have a code or referral or something similar,Just put MSE in,,deposit at least £10 and you get a bonus £5.

i use my credit card which is on the system but now i have to use a vpn on the final screen. The Brazilian and Hungarian store's are sometimes cheaper than Russia so its worth a look.

Been waiting for this to go back on sale for a while, got it direct from Xbox.com with revolut. Total was 2.35.. HEAT!!

Only through VPN. I tried earlier to no avail. Buying credit worked fine but direct on Xbox store did not. Great if it worked for you and by all means others try it, it may not work though and Revolut told me over chat that they are having issues with Microsoft.

No, you need VPN for Russian xbox store. The credit is sold on the MS store so you can use any card and then redeem the code for credit. you can then easily use the credit for buying items. Frustrating as I want to buy something else and could do part payment with what is left on the Revolut card. You need VPN though (and wouldn't actually need a Revolut card, any would be fine - I just use it to avoid currency changing fees from my bank).
