I very nearly bought this, then had a quick look at Richer Sounds and realised that there's no 4k upscaling and no ethernet / wireless. If I bought this, I'd have to buy another receiver further down the line.
Still an excellent price, but will pass this time.

Have a previous model (TXNR809) at home. Did throw my Sony HT (5 DVD changer inhuilt) straight out. With new Bose speakers it's too good.
Of course, at this price it's enough motivation to upgrade your A/V receiver.

Think you'll find that this isn't sold from the UK (they are based in Europe somewhere) and that iBood very rarely sell UK stock - it is normally from another region. If this was UK I'd purchase but knowing iBood it will not be sadly. Good luck to those ordering though, hopefully its UK/European stock

a THX system is better but will cost you more. Saying that I replaced a THX certified 7.2 Onkyo 608 with this and couldn't be happier. The new Dolby surround mix that upmixes 5.1 into 5.1.2 for simulated Atmos effect is excellent.

i hate the fact this has clips for the speaker wire terminals not plugs, that and my rack space is limited and past experience with onkyo is they run very hot otherwise id be tempted. great price though

it only has spring clips for rears and surrounds which in all honesty don't need thick speaker wire. Fornt speakrer terminals are normal allowing banana plugs. I had the same concern when i bought mine but in all honesty it's not an issue.
As for running temp this seems to run a lot cooler than the last 2 Onkyo AVR's I had (the notorious 606 and a 608)
In fact doesn't seem to run warm at all.
