not sure..............i think if its from (or it used to be) from carphonewarehouse, they are/were unlocked but it more expensive and you do have to buy a topup for sure.

and ask abit about phone as was tempted to buy

was going to ask about screen res as no one mentioned and not on o2 site , usability and if power button problem is ok and stuff, but yeh , i think i do (enjoy my BLU) , DGMW , i pay extra not to have phones direct from china , but i do not see much value in this for the cost, and lesson to the wise above, MS officially support BLU, atleast they try :sunglasses:

o2 locks all its phones, so yes locked
maybe can run tesco and gif gaff or other o2 MVNO

I think they are great mum phones and as the interface is stock unlike most Android phones easy to give generic advice.

I agree with Agharta, it would be a very good mum phone, pretty uncomplicated to use and less prone to memory issues and lag that you'd get with a similar priced Android phone.

I ordered this phone yesterday for my mums xmas pressie, unfortunately I will have to send it back because windows phones can't play facebook games via the f/b app or on the browser, one of the reasons my mum wanted a smart phone in the first place.

Thanks for the reply dazza, I'm going to give the 550 to my dad & get my mum an android, I wasn't trying to knock you yesterday, it was the way you laid out your piece on brands & snobbery, I do agree with what you said, if I needed a new phone for myself I wouldn't discount brands like Blu ect.

cool, takes me an age to post , and a sometimes construct what i wish to say is small chunks , love the way you see it as poetry, :man:
whats in my mind trying to come out doent always seem so fluid, only got the BLU to answer the question of windows phones , have had few tabs over last couple of years and got first "smart" phone last year blackfriday an android, havent looked back and am still learning, having fun and crucially finding amazing free apps, recently a scanner app, a level app and more new browsers , i have 12, i hate (when i cant view pages), whilst windows phones are cool and am looking forward to 10, have installed many copies and like, other have asked me to downgrade back to 7 and even 8 not even 8.1
i hoped to be blown away, i am a bit , but am also abit frustrated about its fluidity as an OS (and obviously the amount, depth and quality of the apps) , moving around treads of text messages is not intuitive , managing contacts, file management etc.
some talk of dual booting it with Andriod , so for the price i got it , thought worth a punt, actually bought two and gave one to my DD as a teen so can tick that list as well and she feels a bit stuck as well and has asked to keep her andiod as well
shes a kid and i think shes right its dual sim, but i feel somethings missing even with a dumb phone as well in my pocket but i will keep in stock until 10 and then maybe if still dont feel the love attempt a dual boot sold by amazon makes it for me more than anyhthing, will go back if i brick it , as for the phone OP , i aggree with vassy201187 the 640 seems like a good spec , love the snapdragon 64bits, they have grunt and that matters more than ram whatever anyone says
i have noticed though my kitkat often uses around 700MB doing v.nothing and this BLU with HD screen res chug along several apps and only be using few hundred MB ram, MS are pushing 10ATM and i hope sammy, sony, LG and even motarola make flagships , wouldnt it be cool if MS brought nokia back and made an andriod :sunglasses:

Received mine & it doesn't come with a charger or usb cable , it was asked yesterday if this o2 550 deal came with a charger in another 550 thread here.

The vodafone upgrade price on CPW just dropped to £49.99
Would buy if I knew how to get an upgrade! Don't think I have any old sims about for vodafone. Shame!
