About 30cm tall, so perfect for a desk! Could team with small strings of lights, also available in store.

Plant it on your garden or move to a bigger pot for next year

I did that and it died, but I did the same last year but kept it inside and it survived...
Although it can look pretty dead and they come alive again during Spring and Summer. I've tried a few times and one that was as dry and dead as anything, I never bothered throwing it out and it suddenly just came to life 2 years later and has mostly recovered now.

Have they just chopped up a big Christmas tree and shoved the bits into some soil?

Can you plant and grow these? I'm looking to have a wall of trees at the bottom of my garden.... (a bit like a hedge, but without any of that care or trimming malarky)

Yes you can plant them and no, not without the trimming, they will (may) grow quite large if you don't keep them in check
