I've got both but I'll get more so I can do a roast potato shoot-out. I'm not even joking. Roast potatoes are my thing.
After boling them in salty water you've got to put them in half an hour before the meat goes in so that all the horrible white 'fluffy' stuff inside that tastes like potatoes goes away. Have enough fat at the start so that they're paddling but drain that off around half way through. And it's about time, not temperature. Too hot and they'll basically be fried. When they come out they should be like a sienna sunset and almost crumble.
You know when your friends say they do the best roast potatoes? They don't. I do.

So everyone has an aldi close by them?
I usually buy Morrisons King Edwards or Maris Pipers at least once a week, I tried these Aldi ones this week and I can tell you they weren't as nice, they went quite mushy and just didn't taste the same.
Might have just been an off bag I had but for the extra 5p a kilo I'll be going back to Morrisons

No denying the Aldi spuds are cheap but Morrisons Maris Pipers are the real deal and are normally priced at £2 for this size of bag.

How do those who don't have an Aldi know what the quality is like.?
Sounds like shop snobbery to me.
Anyway, here is Evesham we are blessed with both Aldi & Morrisons, and I certainly wouldn't say the quality of the Maris Piper spuds in Morrisons is in any way superior to those in Aldi.
Now this deal is 9th hottest of the day. Site broken, sorry.

So 2 kg for 29p @ Aldi, or 5 kg for a quid from Morrisons???
Hmmm... decisions, decisions...
What the heck, the site is well and truly broken for this to get to the 10the hottest deal of the day
I'm voting it HOT, HOT, HOT!

in Tesco they are just white potatoes, rubbish against a piper
Having used potatoes from both stores I can guarantee that the ones from morrisons are far better quality
