Just noticed a great SIM only deal on LIFE Mobile through uSwitch on a 30-day rolling contract with no credit check.
Unlimited text, 1500 minutes and 1GB of data for £6.00 per month.

I can't see anyone else offering anywhere close to this amount of value.

3G coverage only, so might not be for everyone, however it’s fine for me as I don’t have 4G in my area yet.

They also have capped contracts and piggyback on the EE network.

Good price signed up last week but made a total hash of my pac took 10 days in all,not happy as they cut of my old no after 1 day so no one could contact me for 10 days .Think this happens if you pack inj from any other ee sim , ie asda ,virgin so be warned, staff very friendly though and answer phone very quickly.

Yeah I've just ordered it. You pay upfront for the first month as part of the sale and DD each month thereafter.
It automatically rolls each month until you cancel.

I'm with Life on their £5pm tariff and have very mixed feelings. I think my biggest concern is that the only way I seem to be able to check my remaining allowance is to phone up and speak to someone after holding. Their website is normally days out of date (doesn't work with Chrome browser anyway) and they don't have an automated number to check via call/SMS. They apparently have an android app in development but this seems like overkill for what should be very basic functionality.

Phones usually have a data section where you can set billing dates and it will monitor this for you - even cutting off if you set the appropriate data limit.

It should have a section in the settings - it can monitor both wifi and/or data usage (obviously you'd just set it to track data so that you know when you're approaching your monthly limit). I do this every month and it's always worked for me.

Or, more accurately, I try log into my account but can't get passed the login screen. No error, just doesn't respond to login button. Then I remember that the website doesn't work with Chrome and switch to I.E. (which I can't do from my phone obviously). Then when trying to login from I.E. I get the error that I need to reset my password. No idea if this is due to the failed login from Chrome but it has been every single time for me. Having reset my password yet again I finally login only to find that the information is about 3 days old. I also note that my Smart Cap is still set to £5, despite asking twice for it to be changed. I am speaking as someone who has voted this deal hot and is planning to phone up tomorrow to see if I can change to this tariff.

Got the £5 package for my son and it seems great value, he has low usage so not noticed any issues with the balance checking via the website. They also changed the cap to £1 as soon as I asked, via a quickly answered call. Coverage for us not as good as O2 that he was on before but much better value and safer with the cap, got some nasty bills from O2 a while back...

£6 deal seems even better value if you need the extra allowances. As commented above, they didn't seem to do a credit check the boxes were left blank on my agreement but don't know for sure.

Hi got this for my Dad (light data user).

I bought the £5 via Quidco to get £5 off so one month free of: 500 mins, 500 text and 500 mb of data.

Rang customers services who will auto upgrade his sim to this deal for £6 in a months time; ready for New Years calls & text.

Cancelled his £8 add-on that was on top of his virgin landline as he was only using 200 mins a month and now he can keep his landline for inbound calls; while using his mobile anywhere instead of paying £10 a month pay as you go rubbish tariffs.

All mobile networks come under new regulations from last summer:

Inclusive minutes include 01, 02, 07, 0800, 0808 and 03.

Excludes 0845 and 0870 or premium rates.

Double check on the Ofcom website as I may have missed one.

So no you won't be able to call adult chat lines or get car insurance quotes on 0845/0870.

I tried it with my old man's old Nokia, the phone showed conference on but one phone was still on hold with a audio message repeating. Looks like it is not a conference network.

I would liked to have tried it on a modern phone but that wasn't available.

You can also call Life on a free 0800 number and ask them directly!

Just contacted LifeMobile customer service and they told me that the SIM will automatically activate within 2 days after dispatch so cannot delay activation.

Orderer first time saw this here. Sim card arrived 2 later. It comes pre activated 48 hours counting from the date of purchase. Rang costumer, answered in 1 minute, they informed activation was still not showing in the system so asked to call within 24 hours. Called next day same time, provided PAC code. This was a saturday, was informed that number would be transfered in two working days, so was expecting sometime around wednesday. Tuesday morning when I woke up my old number was transfered to new card. Less than two working days.
Data was setup automatically, didn't have to change a thing.
Overall, more than happy with the service!
oh, and i moved from O2!

Was porting over from post office to life who both use EE. As it had to be done internally took team 9 days to disconnect old no. It's now day 7 and my number is still not ported. Got a call today to say, they don't know when it will be, engineer working on it...... Really!!!

Anyone had porting issues?

Called them to give my pac and was told they have a backlog on number ports. My number won't be transferred until 8th January. Not too bothered really as my giffgaff goodybag expires on the 10th January.
Strangely received a text an hour later to tell me my port is in progress and will take 2 business days.
Love the fact they answer the phone within a few minutes and you can understand what they are saying :smile:
