The EU law on consumer goods states that items must carry a two year warranty. We are still in the EU. Where it states items have a 1 years manufacturers warranty this is true as it does but you have a longer guarantee automatically in law. Remember your contract is not with the manufacturers, it is with the retailer. If you have an issue with the phone you contact the retailer. They cannot fob you off. In year one to two if you have a problem with the phone email the supplier. Don't ring them. List the purchase date, list the problem or problems and quote the relevant lines from the EU law. Just google it, copy and paste it into your email and state that you wish to make a claim in accordance with the EU law for consumer goods.
Remember also that under UK law you can claim some compensation up to 6 years on certain items but don't expect them to repair your phone if you don't take good care of it. If it looks like it has been dropped then a fault could be put down to mis-use.

I've received a 507 brown leather, it was sealed with the 'void' tape so if you remove it the text is left on the box. Box and handset look to be new and not used (although I've not turned it on yet) previously returned a 508 to Amazon that was not sealed when it arrived and it got very hot and the speaker was very quiet. I'm wanting to keep this handset even though it's a 507....it does have a 2 year warranty after all if anything goes wrong. Hopefully this one is OK. Also came with a plastic goldish back cover.

Oh I did that alright, hence my saying above that I RMA'd straight away.
If they had advertised it as a refurb, and I had knowingly made the decision to buy one then fair enough.
But not stating it is refurbished / previously returned by another buyer, implying that it is 'new' by having a link under the price stating 'or buy this item used' which leads to a page of 'used' G4's, and when asked directly by a customer even stating in the customer Q&A's for the item that it is 'brand new and sealed'... and then sending me something which is clearly not a brand new and sealed phone? That's not ok.
I've mentioned in the thread for the Black leather one which I bought, that when they approved the RMA, they asked if I wanted refund or another one sent out. I advised that provided that the replacement was a brand new and sealed phone, I would very much like a replacement. No response received to that, and I see from my account that they have put the RMA through as 'refund'. Suggests to me that they don't have any new phones to send out, only the same thing I got in the first place...

For info of anyone reading this thread - I ordered the black leather LG G4 from ebuyer on wednesday, same price. Despite being described as new and sealed, came in damaged box (not damaged in transit, external packaging not marked at all on the side where the phone was packed in) with two broken security seals (one placed over the other to cover it but then broken anyway!) and the IMEI / S/no label stuck over top of the label for the phone that the box used to belong to. Big old thumbprint on the phone screen too.
Refurbed or returned without a doubt, as I can't see LG supplying their flagship phone in a beaten up and clearly reused packaging. RMA'd straight away. Be warned!

Ah yes, forgot to mention that too - The phone I received was a 506 serial number, produced prior to October... For those not aware, google 'LG G4 bootloop', you will find that this would have been one of those affected by a known issue, thus even further reinforcing that his was a handset sent back for repair previously, as I suspect are most if not all handsets they are sending out, which explains why they are at a better price than I've found anywhere else for unlocked sim free G4s! Anybody who has already ordered and not yet received, check everything carefully...

could someone who bought it on ebuyer only kindly check the serial number ? this should be something like 510 or 511 or 505... I'd like to see if they have recent stock thanks

The one you want for UK use is the D855. The B851 doesn't support many of the UK frequencies.

i think spec vise the lg is better being a 2015 phone but i think it oversteps the size limit of a mobile phone. Love the tanned leather though. So for now i'm sticking with my htc m8 until the s6 edge comes down to sub £300

You replied to me and in both instances I meant storage space :wink:
SO here is the data allocation for my 32GB LG G4
32GB = 28.2GiB phone
Actual USERDATA space = 22.7Gib so Android OS must be using 5.5GiB to make up the 28.2GiB storage
BUT USERDATA contains a folder called SYSTEM DATA containing 5.4GiB so I only actually have 17.3Gib of free space for apps etc
It appears as though the upgrade from L to M has left this redundant folder

I can't believe it. Paid £299.99 last week for this as a Christmas prezzie. Do they 'do an Amazon' and refund the difference if you complain? Technically I suppose I could return under distance selling regulations and re-order at this price.

I did the same but really can't be bothered with all the hassle posting back over Christmas and waiting ages for post to get there. Plus the last time I had a refund from ebuyer it took 3 weeks to get back into my account. I still think £300 was an excellent price for this phone so I think I will just suck it up this time.

Bought one a month ago and updated to marshmallow
But seems to have lost 8GB of storage doing so!
Now I only have 24GB showing and 6GB is taken up by SYSTEM DATA so only 18GB available on a 32GB phone.

I was able to unlock 2 Vodafone LG G4 for £2.49 each, and then it is pretty easy to debrand with the LGUP tool, so if you can buy one get the vodafone one, just make sure the mobile S/N is 510 below.
