Yep they fail to make the minimum standard required for 4K certification.

Have read the review, still don't get why 4k is fake.
Anyway, I don't like LG tv's in general due to their poor black levels. Nothing more annoying than grey in what should have been black.

just taken a look at the Currys version of this TV - LG 43UF680V
still UF600 series with the suspected Fake 4K LCD Panel
The TV was not being fed a 4K demo video - so not sure what the source was but the picture quality did look poor - nothing even remotely like the 4K TVs next to it
However the 49" version (LG 49UF680V) looked much better ..... but that was being fed with an LG demo video
so I guess either the 43" version was being fed with a low grade source or the upscaler is actually quite poor - or it is just a poor LCD panel
anyway that has put me off and I will be living with my 39" Panasonic for a while longer !!

but as above - any good? how good is the upscaler considering the lack of true everyday 4k content?

very good price - just need to know how good or bad the upscaling works now ....
