What's IPS? Looking for a monitor around this price and size for my son but not really sure what's important in a monitor.

Please google different type of panel. There are IPS, TN, VA. They have their own advantage compared to each other. It's also depend the purpose for the monitor, for example gaming, etc.

TN panels are generally better for gaming as the refresh rate is faster than IPS say 2ms and below, IPS panels are more colour accurate and provide a cleaner picture.

Thanks for the deal - I've been looking at the deals, kept missing them lol - so I'll plump for this - its just to use as a larger screen for the MBP when doing web design work at home so think this will be perfect - have some heat

Bought this around a year ago. Was £120 back then so not a massive saving over the year and that was standard price. Its a nice Tv though for gaming aswell. TN panel but good quality for price.
One thing that suprised me was its mkv capability through USB! It has a tuner built in but not HD

SOrry to rain on things but it states quite clearly on the link you gave that the Panel is a TN not IPS, just look under technical specifications.

my apologies. in the features bit it quite clearly states that this is IPS but in the tech specs it does say TN.

I've +liked your apology. Gentleman's conduct. LG's fault of course for bungling their website. Well played.
