Tis a nice bottle but overpriced, this £30 pricepoint is probably what it should normally be (imho). . .
That said I think the Black is actually a nicer drink and can be picked up a fair bit keener.

That's a bit of a blinkered attitude.
I'm not saying Johnnie Walker blends are fantastic, but the black and double black are pretty dependable, and the green (RIP) was very good.
If you don't think blends can be as good as single malts, go and get yourself a blend from Compass Box, and prepare to be re-calibrated.

I'm a single malt drinker and if you have a chance find a bottle of singletons of Glen Ord......remarkable drinking but this isn't the centenary gold label blend this is differant.....but I would say it's a quality tipple if us want rubbish made for Asian market there are plenty of howlers lol but this isn't one of em

I went to the distillery over the summer, got a bottle of the 12 but wishing I'd gone for the 15 and 18 as well, always next year I suppose!
As for those chastising this for being a blend rather than a single malt, there are good and bad single malts at varying price points, just as there are good and bad blends across the pricing spectrum too...not to mention single grains. This is certainly drinkable, and I've definitely tasted worse single malts :smiley:

There are some good blends out there like Big Pete or the sublime Nikka Black but Jonnie Walker isn't among them. Waitrose have Nikka whiskey for £30 occasionally. Save your money and get something truly special instead. Good whiskey sells itself. I'd be very wary of any whiskey that needs millions spent in marketing to get people to drink it... Never a good sign. Enlighten yourself, don't follow the herd.

I agree with sheepsplitter, I buy & sell bottles of whisky and what I do know is a lot of people do not even know the difference between a single malt and blended whisky.
To all the 'I only drink single malt' I recently sold a bottle of blended whisky for £3200 and it was a Johnnie Walker on Scotch Whisky Auctions, so what these people are saying is they would not drink it because it is blended, so funny
