Interesting, but I would be surprised if this was made by Hitachi, it looks much more like a generic product with a licensed brand. Hitachi got out of doing consumer products in Europe ages ago.
by that reckoning is Bush a respected brand name?

It is not 120w, it is only 2 channels which means 2 x 15w speakers equalling 30w. RMS
Best to get a sound bar with a separate subwoofer and the more channels the better.

They have diversified away from home electronics in the last decade but used to be one of the big players. Maybe not as well respected as Sony and Panasonic during those times, but only a little below, and certainly better regarded than Goodmans, Bush etc. IMHO. I had a few decent Hitachi TVs in the 1980's. Since Samsung and LG got into TV's etc. Hitachi decided to withdraw and expand in other areas.
Hitachi is an old and big technology conglomerate, so not sure what the mocking of the brand is about, they are not a 'posh' named brand, but they certainly are not comparable to cheap tat like Bush and Goodmans. Having said that this is probably a rebrand of some other product and not a true Hitachi product.
