Yesterday I was looking for something to snack on. Didn't fancy any of the usual chocs so went to the World Food isle. Spotted this Hershey's and thought i'd take one as the price was stated as 56p. Went to the checkout and it scans at 18p each! went back and take another 10. Family demolished it already, will go back for a whole box today. Bargain for what it is! Brings back memories too!

Hershey's Foods International make there chocolate according to one of two recipes depending on where it is made.
If it is made in the USA it has to be made with Coco solids & Milk solids with (No Vegetable Fat including Trans Fats) If they want to call it Chocolate by US law. If Vegetable Fat is used it has to be called Chocolate Flavoured Candle. *See Foot Note*
However if it is made in Europe (in Holland I believe) They can use Vegetable Fat including Trans Fats but it has a very waxy it like cooking Chocolate.
So if you like the real American stuff and don't have a problem to dairy, check the back to make sure you got the real deal .:innocent:
The Foot Note
In September 2008, MSNBC reported that several Hershey chocolate products were reformulated to replace cocoa butter with vegetable oil as an emulsifier. According to the company, this change was made to reduce the costs of producing the products instead of raising their prices or decreasing the sizes. Some consumers complained that the taste was different, but the company stated that in the company-sponsored blind taste tests, approximately half of consumers preferred the new versions. As the new versions no longer met the Food and Drug Administration's official definition of "milk chocolate", the changed items were relabeled from stating they were "milk chocolate" and "made with chocolate" to "chocolate candy" and "chocolaty."
