The similar HL225DBB is reviewed on amazon (the suffix is often used to show different variants/price points of the same base model). What exactly is LED in this monitor and why is it worth mentioning? Are there any monitors without LED?

Yes there used to something called a CRT monitor which has a tube instead leds lighting it up hence the tube reference in YouTube. So these types of monitors are identified as LED monitors as apposed to those along with lcd, plasma, rear projection. etc.
And, I should note that LED is LCD - it's just got a back light using LEDs rather than tubes.
To further confuse things OLED displays do use individuals LEDs I believe, but never really took off, presumably partly for price reasons.

Would sooner hang around for a Dell P2214H. No HDMI, but it is IPS, and a much better quality screen overall.
Just wait for NRG IT to get more in stock

I bought 3x HL225DBB from Amazon (direct) and they seem like decent screens. I then bought 3 more of the same model from eBuyer but they looked slightly different despite being the exact same model number (the eBuyer ones were matte bezels rather than gloss and the logo was different somewhat). Anyway, the eBuyer DVI ports stopped working on all 3 screens one after the other (over the course of 2 days). Oddly, the VGA still worked. I tried other screens with the same configuration and could not find fault, so assumed the screens were faulty. I would not endorse buying from eBuyer as they did not reply to the returns cases - we had to keep chasing. We managed to return them but they then said they worked and promptly sent them back to us without consultation of any sort. I plugged one in when it came back and it worked. I did however buy 3 BenQs in the meantime so no longer need these. I doubt they are reliable though so would not recommend getting them. No opportunity to try the Hanns screens to test reliability either. At least with Amazon you can return it hassle free.

cost is the exact reason. Making big amoled screens are expensive due to its manufacturing method. You can hardly say its not taken off, its just beginning, Samsung and LG are making more and more.
