Sorry yes you are right but it is a 2 tonne Jack and seems ok but I do put the axel stands u set just to be sure. For a few more pound i think it is worth getting the kit.( but just my opinion)

Personally I think the 5 piece lifting kit for £50 is great value and you get the jack in the kit.
I have the 5 piece kit and the quality is great.

Cheaper jack though ie not the low profile item. Not a bad kit though
"...ideal to keep in your boot for when car-related emergencies strike...."
No, no, no! It'll affect your fuel consumption and become a lethal weapon in the even of a shunt. What are you planning on doing - a gearbox change on the hard shoulder?
I bought this jack last year to lift my ride on lawn mower. It's also handy for the car too as that is quite low but......although this wasn't a lot of money and is well made the quickness of the lift of the jack is rubbish. The hydraulic cylinder must be about as big garden pea because the number of strokes it takes from flat to maximum lift takes quite a few strokes.
My other jack is over 30 years old and that too was a cheap purchase from Halfords. Those were the days when everything in Halfords was cheap unlike today!! The new jack is not a patch on my old old Paddy Hopkirk Trolley Jack.
The jack serves a purpose from it being low profile but if you don't need a low profile jack then do yourself a favour and buy a quick lift one.

Got this jack and its been a good buy. However i wouldn't recommend keeping it in your boot (nor any other heavy item) unless you have a saloon. Worst case scenario this handy item could become a dangerous flying object that would easily kill anyone it hit in the event of a serious accident.

I got one last summer when Halfords had them for £25. Solid bit of kit, they are heavy because they are well made and don't twist like the cheaper jacks. Low profile use not much point if you have a normal car because you wont get the higher lift. Great for my Hyundai Coupe.

Are you being ironic? It is for car repairs not simply changing tyres.

I remember him, he's not that old. Maybe a team member from Britain's strongest man would do it.

I've not a clue - I don't think the designer has thought this through.
You need be Geoff Capes lift that (well in his day - or is that too old for this site?)

Yeah, how do you lift it up to get it in your boot at that weight
