I wonder how many people who slate this camera have actually used it or have a valid frame of reference. Ive got a GoPro Hero, a SJ1000 and been lucky enough to use a Session and I can say that whilst these two budget cameras are great value they dont compare to the Session. At full HD only the Black Edition does a noticeably better job and you'd only notice that in the most testing of situations - the Sessions got better sound and a more versatile mounting solution too. Its true there's no option to remove the battery but you can always plug in an external battery. At £159 its a pretty good deal.
yeah, £15, way cheaper than gopro! not sure its faster though, and my photographer friend says get the fastest you can. but he's going to notice things I don't ...

yeah got my conf today now too.
ordered an SD card with a 3 on the front instead of a 1, hoping that's fast ENOUGH, as they seemed to be the most widely available !!

Yeah me too I think they're even faster than the 1 so should be fine. Did you get the sandisk extreme from Amazon?

I ordered at around 2pm on Friday but have only just received received shipping confirmation and tracking number at 2pm today (Monday) I think it was supposed to be same day despatch for orders before 3pm but perhaps they were inundated when the price of the session went down

If anyone's looking for the Hero 4 silver, there's a company selling it for £213. A.S. Adventures. If you search "GoPro Video Hero 4 Silver Adventure" on google shopping, you should find it (mods won't let me post the link as the company is based outside the uk)

I am so glad I paid $199 for a 3+ 18 months ago. You can fanny about forever waiting for things to drop in price.
Folk who bought a fortnight ago have probably got priceless footage already.
why the hell did i click on the youtube link in page 1.. i've just lost an hour of my life

I meant more the people who bought a week or so ago....many people who buy these things but them in a flurry of creativity then barely use them...I know my GoPro 4 Black I bought quite early but I hardly used until the summer when I started kneeboarding and flyboarding then it came into its own.
this or the Hero3+ that argos had a couple of weeks ago??
I haven't opened my 3+ from argos yet in hope of a better deal

They are all bad value. But if you have money to burn, stick with your 3+. The Session has compromised image quality to make it the size it is.

Not a bad price drop, shame battery is not removable. Does the £170 hero with wifi allow the battery bakpak attachment?
I'm in the market for one of these but honestly don't believe they are worth more than £100 for what they do.

So get a Xiaomi Yi camera. £42...and superb video quality to boot.

I spent a good couple of days researching all these cameras a few weeks ago.
The GoPro session is still annoyingly overpriced, even with this discount.
I'd highly recommend going for a Mobius camera, it's what I went for and depending on your needs should do a much better job, with a smaller size at 25% of the cost.

If you buy it in the states your bag comes personalised, in the UK it's just an unpersonalised bag

In case anyone is interested in a dimension comparison, the GoPro Hero4 Session is 38mm x 38mm x 36.4mm depth, whereas the SJ4000 is 60mm x 41mm x 30mm (with the lens) and the Xiaomi Yi measures 60mm x 42mm x 21mm

Tempting... I'll have a look around. Might wait a little while. To be honest I only really need an action cam to record a Rough Runner I'm doing in April. Maybe prices will drop further...

I am very tempted. I purchased an SJ4000 following reviews I've decided you can't skimp out on quality. Been waiting for a price drop on a decent spec GoPro. Anyone want to convince me to buy/not buy it?

The Xiaomi Yi has a 16mp Sony sensor and the same image processing chip as the Go Pro and is ~£42.

Nice size but video quality isn't that great on the session. Other models are better.

This is now the permanent price for the Session. When it was launched it was slated for being the same price as its higher spec siblings. At this price it now makes a lot more sense & is the model I would choose in the lineup
