Without meaning to take away from the deal, this probably wouldn't be much use for actual weightlifting right? Due to it being quite thin and just velcro? I can't imagine it staying put during a heavy squat or dead

Velcro can be VERY strong, especially when there's a large stretch being pulled along it's self.
I'm sure it CAN be strong enough to resist the pressure put on it by core muscles.
I went for a belt with a large back section and ended up regretting it - I've got a fairly large rib cage and the sides of the belt would get trapped between my rib cage and hip bone occasionally, pinching the skin.

I don't lift weights but have got an XXL stomach. Does anyone know if I can use this kind of belt to strap it in a bit?

Thanks OP....a lot of conflicting research out there on the merits and drawbacks of using a belt during lifts.......for £1 (used a clubcard voucher I had randomly as well!) I am going to try during my deads and squats.

Oh and note the comment on the page that the belt sent is 'large' 36-40".
I've been off lifting for over a year with some dodgy shoulders (not related to lifting, but it doesn't help), however was tempted for when/if I can get them sorted, however even now I'm not much over 32, so size is going to pushing it rather.

Heat. Ordered for securing my old boy after wrapping it around the waist when I play sports.
