I held of posting this until I had received the item, it was delivered next day and wear was negligible (especially on blade).
RRP of this is around £100. I've been after one for a while but secondhand a sliding mitre saw is around £70. Hence I thought this was worth a go.
I set it up, and had a little play with it and all seems fine. 90 warranty included.

Does the job, just built a bar for a mate using one. Cuts nice and clean, good blade. The laser isn't 100% reliable for lining cuts up is the only niggle with it but it's not essential to use it. The stand is only £50 and is well made. Would recommend.
Also put skirtings on with it, accurate degree cuts.
FYI the refurb units are always available for this price, great saw for home use (I've gone for grade B before - usually £55 on eBay but not convinced any better than a grade C).
Did you align the laser? Should be fine once you have done that.

good for occasional DIY and the price is just great, a good freud blade on my 305mm one cost just that!

Got one of these refurbs a while ago - great bit of kit. The bonus of buying a refurb is that it comes assembled ready to use and its clearly been fully manufacturer tested in its assembled state. Also highly recommend the jigsaw.

Completely agree, buy the stand and you wont be disappointed, solid bit of kit that folds away for storage for £50 delivered from Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Evolution-Mitre-Saw-Stand-Extensions/dp/B005XJ8XQG

been using it loads recently for building a work bench and other assorted DIY, brilliant but of kit, best 40 quid I've ever spent on a tool.
