Good idea, however, 67ml bottle of Youth Dew is only £25.99 on Amazon, so not really cost effective, unless one is desperate to get the artist collection.

Completely useless. Ordered 30 November. Had to e-mail twice after nothing had arrived a fortnight later. Finally last Friday got told the items must have been "Lost in transit" - which was a lie as Royal Mail's tracking shows they never actually received the items. They offered to send a "replacement"... which has not arrived. And now I will not have these items for XMas, which were meant to form part of a gift.
Not buying from this brand again.

Identical situation here, so much so I was reading your post thinking I can't remember posting this! Pretty gutted to be honest; thought 24 days was plenty enough to get it or the replacement... It appears not

Most of them were like travel sizes, so 50ml, 100ml, and half size mascaras.
But some nice things, some which I have to my mum and the rest I kept. A handful of 5ml perfumes too.

They sent me box of assorted products; Estee lauder, Bobbi brown, clinique, smashbox and some others. Looks like they put what they could find in the office into a box. Plus a medium makeup bag.

I'm pleased that they rectified the situation but agree with the pp. Perservere with your emails, and word it well.

To anyone that has had negative responses, or received no response to your complaints, hang in there and persevere, if you can be bothered. I did on principle. They finally came through for me with a replacement free gift, no idea when I will get it, mind, but ultimately they are the ones treating customers badly and advertising a gift they didn't send, so if a staff member effectively tells you tough, complain about that too, if necessary, because it isn't on.

Its terrible. They're like here's the refund, no harm done... But when I have to give my OH £21 cash on Xmas morning instead of an abundance of makeup (a mascara, lipstick and 7 other samples some full size) and a makeup bag - there is harm done.

The order to me was worth much much more to me (and my OH) than the £21 I have paid out, but it looks like they couldn't really give a monkey's

If you want to kick up a fuss then you could quote their T&Cs:

If they listed the items on the order and the order did not state that they are subject to conditions and may not be supplied then as I see it, they form part of the contract. A contract which they entered into when they dispatched the order (at least the paid part). Therefore unless you agree or choose to cancel the contract then they are legally obliged to either fulfill it or to offer reasonable remedy to the breach they have made. It is their responsibility not to enter into contract to supply items if they are subject to stock an cant be fulfilled - either by not taking the order on the website, by contacting you to tell you that they cannot fulfill the order and agreeing the course of action or by simply cancelling the order prior to despatch. To take an order, list the items that form part of that order, enter into a legally binding contract to fulfill the order and then not supply all the items and fail to offer adequate remedy is unacceptable and (if you can be bothered) worth pursuing.

I should add that I have no legal qualification and the above is my unqualified opinion but it seems logical to me...

This is a complete waste of time. I had two orders and both came with no free gifts. I emailed them an was told that the free samples were subject to availability. I am so shocked. With their crazy prices for each csmetic is this the kind of customer service and inventory they manage? If they dont have something in stock how can they promise to sell it to customers. I have returned my order just because of the unsatisfactory customer service. And I will never buy Estee Lauder stuff again. Overpriced stuff not worth a penny

I too did not receive the free gift, but am happy with the response I have just received. I used both emails that are mentioned by the pp's:

Dear ******

Please let me start by apologising for the service you have received from us, this is not the service we would expect our agents to provide,

I would like to send you a complimentary gift as way of an apology, and would quite like to make it across a few of the brands under the Estee Lauder Umbrella, please can you confirm you are happy to receive this and I will get your package wrapped up and sent you first class?

Again apologies for all inconvenience caused, and I look forward to hearing from you

Warm regards

My order arrived without the free gifts, i just sent off an email expressing that i was disappointed that they hadn't included it or informed me that it wouldn't be included as it was out of stock when packing my order, they replied straight away, said sorry and are posting this out to me instead..

"I have thoroughly searched our stock in an effort to source the Exclusive Luxury gift for you however regrettably this item is completely out of stock, therefore I would like to arrange for an alternative sample gift set to be sent out to you, which I have detailed below and I hope you will enjoy.

Sumptuous Infinite Daring Mascara

You got me wrong I think - I didnt get any freebies in my latest order, only in the first two. So want to message them to say this one is going back without the freebies - so if you can send me the email address that would be much appreciated, thanks.

Surely once they have taken your money and confimed the order they have a contract to supply the goods, or a mutually agreed alternative?
vvee
10 Dec 15 #196
That's terrible. I will message you an email, but I dunno if people would be better going straight to the top (directors emails are available online). It is even more problematic with a gift isn't it, as you have to get the person to open and or return, which really isn't fair.

Noticed this little chestnut on the order notice - We are under a legal duty to supply goods that are in conformity with our contract with you.
You think that would mean they bloomin' well had to send what they advertised, or at least let you know if there was a problem.

There was me thinking my giftee was all but certain to be receiving the gift - but reading a couple of the recent ones, looks like my confidence was misplaced.

I buy Estee Lauder products all the time, but never usually directly from them online, and looks like I won't be again. What a shoddy way to do business. I can't believe their management would advocate this slap-dash inconsistent service..if they knew about it.

I just called them and was told the gift went out of stock? When I pointed out that my order was placed on 1/12/15 and people who had ordered after me still got their free gift she than admitted that the value of my purchase (the £5.50 sharpener) was the reason I hadn't got it. Bit naughty of them to advertise 'with any purchase' if that's the case. She said i should return the things I did receive for a full refund as they now have none available to send out.

Everything offered by the looks of it, but I haven't unwrapped all the tissue paper that has been used so I will confirm later.

Also the label on the box has 'Events Management Order' so it looks like they are processing all the free stuff as a 'lose' like they would when handing out free stuff at events. So I would expect everyone to receive something, even if their order was cancelled as someone else pointed out before, that is what all these samples are used for anyways.... giving out for free.

God that is just so wrong. It all went smoothly for me but if it hasn't for others you should contact them and point out that they have been guilty of misselling as they clearly offered this so made people buy under false pretence. Ah I didn't know there was a live chat facility, will see if they respond to my email by the morning and give that a try.

The order confirmation and dispatch email had the free gift listed, but in the box the invoice made no mention of it at all.

6 Dec 15 #137
I paid Thursday morning and still not received a dispatch email! Got a funny feeling a lot of us won't be receiving the freebies :disappointed:

No don't worry yet. I only got email dispatch this morning ( Sunday) and I ordered Wednesday midday-ish so you'll probably get it tomorrow.

6 Dec 15 #136
Thanks. Spent 20 minutes doing that. Total waste of time, which frustrated the heck out of me. All they could say is it should be received, they would expect it to be received, if it isn't received let them know. They couldn't or wouldn't check with the warehouse/stock department, all they say is it is on the confirmation so it should be sent..

I ordered Wednesday and just got dispatch email this morning which includes all the free stuff. If I don't get it I'll screen shot and contact them.Offering included items to make a sale and then not delivering is totally misleading. They shouldn't be sending out incomplete orders without contacting buyers with a cancel option.
bazr
6 Dec 15 #133
Why not use the online chat facility, Sunday hours 10am - 4pm.
vvee
6 Dec 15 #132
Sure, will do. Though I have a suspicion they might not reply until the parcel has been sent, which would annoy me greatly if the gift isn't there, because saying to someone, I sent you a gift but don't open it and can you send it back for me aint great.
vvee
5 Dec 15 #130
Ah, that's no good at all, is it. They should let people know before sending. I ordered after you, so think I will email them as don't want the giftee to receive and then have to send back.
groovydolly to vvee
6 Dec 15 #131
Would you mind giving an update whenever they get back to you? I'm in the same boat and don't want to have to return later on.
Pia23
5 Dec 15 #129
Yeah the confirmation email had it on. I've sent them an email but I'm sure they'll just say they ran out.

I had mine to be gift wrapped as it was free and it's just in a gift box so able to check the whole order without disturbing anything.
Pia23
5 Dec 15 #126

"except when required by law". this is the way that many companies hide the fact that they DO test on animals. So they will sell in China (where all products have to be tested on animals) and test on rabbits, cats, mice, pigs etc before doing so. They can choose not to sell in China because of the cruel experiments, but they don't because they care so little about animals and so much about money. It really isn't a cruelty free company.

I was chatting to a member of staff from Estee Lauder via live chat to query this, and she wasn't aware of it... (strange). She seems to think there was an error. Thanks OP  heat added. I didn't need any more makeup really but I can never turn down a few freebies. The eyeliners are apparently really great and I have personally never have purchased anything from Estee before. So I'm rather happy paying £16.50 for my eyeliner as I usually pay between £8 and £12 for maxfactor, bourjois etc ones anyway, plus with the free delivery and a lovely looking little travel bag, it was hard to resist. Best bit is I get lots of samples from cleansers to primers and lipsticks to try out to see if I like the brand. So OP, thank you  such a lovely find. Thank you for sharing. I also tried to add the sharperner into my basket - said it was added but when I clicked to checkout, it was empty! So they obviously were on top of this and now they've completely removed the sharpener from the website (I can't find it anyway) so that nobody can use it to get the free stuff :disappointed: Next best cheapest thing to get is probably the makeup brush cleaner which is 12 pounds, but seen as though I wash my makeup brushes with soap and oil, I thought I may as well get a nail polish for 15 plus the free stuff, of course.
