Wireless charging is a gimmick in my experience, I've had 2 different pads and both of them only charge inconsistently.
My Samsung S6 very helpfully beeps whenever the wireless charging activates, which is really handy when it decides to turn itself off and on every minute on my bedside table at 3am! :disappointed:

been using £5 generic ones for a couple of years now, no faults. at home, at office. I put my phone down and it charges, slowly but fine it gets a full charge over night. does heat up which is could potentially be bad for battery but no noticeable difference after using it long term I'm sure is within the battery spec (it gets about as hot as it would on a hot day)

If anyone is expecting fast charging with a wireless charger they are going to be woefully disappointed. If keeping your phone topped up whilst sat at your desk at work is what you want then they are ideal.

Not really good for your battery is it? charging all the time ...I dunno ..would have thought that discharging it to near dead then recharging would be the thing ....though if its trickle charging ..hmm ..decisions decisions...
Wireless charging can be incredibly convenient if your phone can do it, but it's not without its disadvantages. The inductive, wireless chargers out there today have this nasty habit of generating a fair bit of waste heat. And while wasted energy is just a bummer in general, that heat will also toast your battery in the process. That's no bueno. It's a little less convenient, but standard plug-in charging is going to keep your battery in better shape, especially if you're some place warm to begin with.
Now what to do

I've tried two different ones (incl Samsung original) and neither are able to charge through my phone bumper case (admittedly it's a bit heavy duty).

Why do so many phones incorporate the facility these days if it was bad for them? Perhaps we should not put faith in manufacturers but would you really think they have not done their homework on this?!
