The absolute comes with the newer style brushbar as well as an additional hard floor cleaning head and better filtration. The motor, capacity, weight and runtime is the same.

You would be much better off buying the total clean. It has the same direct drive brush head as the absolute but also comes with the fluffy hard floor head which is excellent and better than the hard floor head that comes with the absolute. The only reason to buy the absolute would be if you have allergy's

Spend the extra £40 and get one of these models with the extra heads.
I bought this last night. Fantastic :smiley: Dyson has dropped the price on their website also

But the real question is,do those different heads actually make a difference or just barely?

The Total Clean (currently £279 and exclusive to Currys) comes with both of those heads, the only significant benefit is if you're primarily hard floor and you're conscious of using a soft roller as opposed to a rotating brushbar as on these you can't turn the brushes off like you would on an upright. Ultimately the Animal provides good cleaning for both carpets and hard floors. There's very little stock of the Total Clean at the moment.
