just fwiw, all alkaline batteries are essentially the same. Duracell is no better or worse than any other brand.
they all have the potential to leak
they all last about the same amount of time in most applications
for most applications you are better off with low self-discharge nimh batteries (around £1/cell)
From the best to the worst Alkaline batteries you can see a difference of up to 25% in mAh life, this is not to say that all branded cells are good and all cheap cells are bad, but you cannot assume that all cheap cells will be good batteries.
The brands mentioned are not in these tests, but as an example of the difference in cells, from zink to Lit, have a look here.
Yee gods. I can't believe HUKDers still believe the Duracell marketing slush!
Who in their right mind pays 25p a battery?
Half that price at Wilko and not much more at Poundland.

Yet another victory for the Duracell marketing department. Possibly the biggest rip-off of the year and certainly NOT a "hot deal".
See e.g. Poundland who have cells of identical quality 8 for £1 (Kodak Xtralife Alkaline bonus packs) or Willkinson 8 for 95p (own brand alkaline cells).
Can there not be an automatic banner headline on any Duracell AA post pointing out that the normal price for this sort of cell is 12p each?!
So this pack would only be a deal if it was less than £4.50.
Do yourself a favour and get high quality rechargeable instead. Low self-discharge batteries are more expensive up front but are cheaper overall that "disposable" batteries will ever be. Unlike old rechargables they can be hold their charge for years so you don't have to wait to charge them when your old batteries die.
lotsofbargains to camaj

id agree that they mostly perform to a similar nature for most applications, however I'd never use zinc batteries.
awesome!
