Been looking for a cordless drill as my Makita one no longer holds charge. Found this which looks good as it's usually about £150 but has come down to £129.99 as part of their 'black and yellow' weekend.

Ah, good point. Although adding another battery for £56 still makes it a few quid cheaper, and you would expect a bundle to come in at a slightly lower price.
The battery looks slightly different, but they are the same 18v 4ah batteries.

save yourself a few quid if your battery has gone and send it to re-cell my battery for 36 pound its far cheaper than buying a new drill and will work as good as new

Not if it's LiIon: "We don't recell these Li-ion makes:
Dewalt, Hilti, Makita, Ryobi, AEG, Facom, Ingersoll Rand, Panasonic, Hitachi and Milwaukee. All these have controller circuits which disable the battery so re-cells are not possible."

Can anyone explain this price disparity to me...
The first drill with the Hammer function from the DeWalt range is the DCD985, throwing this into google shopping gives the following results.
If u all for makita u can get one of their best drills for £157 ish. If your willing to wait for Amazon to restock their drill. Just buy it body only. And each part separate. Granted you won't get a case. But I did this earlier on in year and saved money.

Very good drill for the price especially with the 4 ah battery but looking at the spec Max torque: 60Nm concerns me.

Got a twin pack from toolstop recently (impact driver and drill) both brushless and extremely good in use! Paid £430!! If I could I would buy this drill and impact driver separately and save £100+ on it ). Still very happy with what I have, tho.! Hot++

Or you could just buy another battery for the Makita? Anyway, a brilliant joiner/plumber/electrician who has undertaken a lot of work for us, uses a complete set set of DeWalt kit and he's really happy with their performance.
