Is this a refurb?

NRG are notoriously unclear about the origin of their monitors. All you basically know is it's not a 'normal' Dell monitor, as you don't get any Dell warranty. It could be refurb, returned stock, pre-owned, or non-UK sourced.
There has to be a reason they are so much cheaper than everywhere else, but The Big Secret shall never be revealed.

I contacted live support, and this was their reply.
Thank you for your enquiry.
We are a Dell Registered Partner specialising in refurbished items, so all monitors and PCs on our website are classed as Refurbished by Dell unless stated otherwise.
Please note that Dell have not done any actual refurbishment on these items. Instead, all items have been returned to Dell (usually from cancelled orders, although we never get a prior item history for Data Protection reasons) and Dell engineers have checked and certified the item to be in full working order with no refurbishment required. Dell do not include their manufacturer warranty, so we include our own 3 Year On Site warranty to protect our customers from any unforeseen circumstances.

This monitor sounds like a good choice for photo editing. I have the U2412M which is pretty good (for a mid-range monitor) and I think the U2414H supersedes it. The only negative seems to be the 1080p vertical resolution (compared to the 1200p on the U2412M). However, I may still pull the trigger at this price as I've been thinking about getting a monitor for photo-editing for my latest build. Thanks for posting OP.

They do a U2415 with 1200p resolution. Lovely monitor. Gutted that I broke the screen of mine - not sure if it makes it better than I paid £65 thanks to a bad listing on ebay.
(On that, so far haven't been able to find a replacement panel.)

Anyone know if they would be better than 2405FPWs?

I got one with a stand from them in January when they were doing a sale. It was actually cheaper then too as it cost me just £149. It had next day delivery and it's got a 3 year on site warranty too.
The monitor is great, but this model has a range of issues reported online. For starters it often identifies itself as a TV, so you need to make sure that your graphics driver is set to the full 0-255 colour range. By default it'll go to 16-235 and the monitor will have it's preset mode set to standard instead of sRGB, so the colours won't look correct.
Other issues to be aware of are odd DisplayPort behavior and unresponsive touch buttons. Luckily I use HDMI and my buttons work well.

Glad to see i'm not the only one with DisplayPort issues although mine is far worse.
One day I restarted my PC and the monitor didn't detect any input. Hadn't moved anything or touched any wires, just broke spontaneously.
Switched to HDMI and no problems. I do love this monitor overall though, great for gaming as well.

Can confirm display port weird behaviour. After several months of using it, one day it messed up display so it resolution changed to 860x640 or similar low setting. I couldn't find quick solution to the problem so had to change cablework between tv, monitor and pc. Now using onboard gfx in addition to 760.
