Wouldn't bother with a compressor in this country myself but if you feel then need then this seems good value.

Seems a good deal, low energy, only 38db and 2 year warranty.

I bought this about 2 year ago 2nd hand and cheap. and its worked brilliantly. yes it is quiet and seems to do a very good job. heat from me.

I second this, our fancy dessicant one didn't last two years. I've been using a generic Chinese compressor dehumidifier and while it makes lots of noise and can consume 300W on the highest setting, it's lasted at least a good 7 years of use and does the job just fine.

If you have the house at normal temp should be fine, no good for lower temps.

Does his also cool the air temperature, while dehumidfying?
Or does it just suck out the water from the air?

There is some debate about the pros & cons of different types but I'm very happy with the one that I got.

I'm not sure where this 15C figure comes from, though I've seen it quoted in a number of places. It's interesting that, in this deal, the manufacturer states:
Absorbed humidity (l/24h, 32°C/80%):12

So I'm sure it's efficient at higher temperatures but I'm pretty sure that efficiency decreases with temperature. And at below xC (where x is an arbitrary figure that may or may not be 15C) it becomes inefficient.

Anyway, I use my dessiccant type in areas that are often heated much if at all e.g. the laundry room, a couple of cupboards & my holiday cottages which are unoccupied right now

Heated as this is a good price for a dehumidifier if it's the right type for you.

If your property is 15 degrees or less u need to turn the heating on.:confused:

People use dehumanisers on boats. It can get pretty cold there.

Yeah, I thought about this myself when thinking about a higher (20l) one which was higher rated energy but would hopefully extract more water/hour. Unfortuneately couldn't find any £/l figures which would have helped so went on wattage/reviews. Like I said, this one, for the price, seemed like a good deal.
