Caffix is a new cafe selling food and drink for a £1 in central London. Just hope they start having more cafes around the country!

Anywhere selling for that price should get a good review.

What a great deal anywhere, but in the middle of London, it's fantastic. I hope it works well for them.

Just seen the link on the BBC.
Voted hot especially for London.

Let's be honest, the mark-ups that the likes of Caffe Nero, Starbucks and Costa apply to their prices are absolutely ridiculous (and most of those still don't pay their taxes...) This is good, honest pricing and I hope this venture does really well!

It's £1 for half a sandwich though. You can get full whole sandwiches for around £2 in Tesco or Sainsburys, so this doesn't seem like a fantastic price, more of a gimmick really.

And Caffé Nero charge around £4.29 for most of their paninis, so you could buy four half sandwiches in here and still not be charged as much as most coffee shops.
If we're working on the theory of 'you can get a sandwich cheaper elsewhere' well, buy a loaf of bread, some spread, some fillings and voila, make it yourself. You could probably make around 12 sandwiches for less than the price of one Nero panini!
You're comparing a coffee shop to a supermarket, two different things for different times (want to sit somewhere and people watch while you drink your hot beverage and eat your sandwich = coffee shop, want to grab something to eat on the bus home from work, supermarket).

The sandwiches look alot better than the ones you get from the supermarkets, but knowing London, because it's a pound people will avoid.

oh okay I didn't realise it was a sit down place. Yes compared to the competition then it is good. I do actually work in central London so may give it a try next time I'm not having a supermarket sandwich
