Sorry but the pork in this product is likely to be produced pretty much the same as the pork in your expensive butchers bacon. How the meat was processed after it stopped being pig and became pork is where the extra costs come in. To suggest cheap bacon is more damaging to the environment is ludicrous. Yes of course you can buy bacon from the butchers that is better made and tastes better, for more money, but most of that meat will be produced exactly the same as this.

Strange if it's 79p online. I spotted it in store and then checked on their website and it's part of their Super Six meat offers. So, it should be 79p for you.

This kind of pricing should be illegal! The cost to the planet far outweighs poorly produced and irresponsibly cheap meat products. This kind of price just highlights how badly the meat industry is run. Please don't buy this crap. If you need bacon, go to your butcher, find out where it's from and get good value but a good taste with a slightly less detrimental impact on the planet.
