Assassin's Creed Syndicate Special Edition
Extra Mission - The Darwin and Dickens Conspiracy Meet two of the greatest minds of the Victorian Era.
London, 1868. The Industrial Revolution unleashes an incredible age of invention, transforming the lives of millions with technologies once thought impossible. Opportunities created during this time period have people rushing to London to engage in this new world. A world no longer controlled by kings, emperors, politicians or religion, but by a new common denominator: money.
However, not everyone is able to enjoy the benefits of this boom. Despite fueling the engine of the British Empire, workers’ lives are little more than legalized slavery while the top few percent profit from their labor. Living poor and dying young, the lower class unite together in protest as a new kind of family – gangs – who turn to a life in the underworld in their struggle to survive. A struggle, until watchful Assassins come to their side and re-ignite an age-old conflict involving London’s leaders that will echo throughout modern history from the underground, up.
Introducing Assassin Jacob Frye, who with the help of his twin sister Evie, will change the fate of millions in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed® Syndicate. Rise to rally and lead the underworld to break the corrupt stranglehold on London in a visceral adventure filled with action, intrigue and brutal combat.

Who pays £50 for games in this day and age? Especially shocking considering you're a HUKD member.
Anyway, if you wanna feel better buy the game again from GAME and keep it for a day. Then return the next day with the receipt you got with the £50 copy you bought and get it refunded. Voila - you've saved £25.
XBoxOne version is special edition from GAME... if you buy it from Amazon you will not get the Dickens and Darwin extra content. This is a GAME exclusive (although I have seen one other retailer selling it but not at this price)
The link I posted took me to the GAME XB1 version which has the extra content. (the banner across the top of the photo should confirm this for you)

I really don't know for sure, sorry.
I got the biggest collector's edition which came with the season pass included and I got it on PS4 so I never looked in to as much as I would have done.
Though I think they all seem to be coming with the same DLC across the board, just got a feeling there are some DLC missions exclusive to PS4 but once again don't quote me on it

Okay thank you. Might be easier for me to order from Amazon if both are selling the same game as I've locked myself out of game account!!! Struggling to get through to get it sorted. Was just worried Amazon was standard edition and game special edition was better...

I'm not a gamer. Found the Xbox one option now thank you. Am I right in thinking the special edition is just for ps4?? Seems to come up standard edition for xbox one. Buying for my son. Is standard edition okay please?? TIA

It's a special edition over here, but I must admit I did think for some reason there are certain DLC missions exclusive to PS4 in Syndicate so I'm sorry I'm not 100% sure
Thank you...,do you know answer to my other question just posted??

I am a gamer hence my comment... There is a Tomb Raider game for PS4 and it is currently very cheap. Now if you had written your post better to place into context that it was the NEW Tomb Raider game for £25 then people would have known... but in the context of your post you have said you got a new PS4, Creed Syndicate, Tearaway, etc... all for the PS4... so it would seem that you paid £25 for the (older) Tomb Raider as at no point did you mention it was a) new or b) for Xbox1

Jack the Ripper comes out on Tuesday, not sure how much it will cost but Ubi claim it's huge so perhaps dropping the price here is part of a bigger plan.
I noticed MediaMarkt had it on a one day special of €40 over here yesterday, the more people that own the full game the more people to buy the DLC is the logic behind all games nowadays unfortunately :disappointed:

So I assume this piece of **** didn't sell well then?
Shame when a garbage annual re-issue of a video game gets this hot on HUKD despite still being £25. Knock another tenner off and it's hot, but until then...
hwangeruk to thekitkatshuffler
10 Dec 15#143
This is probably less to do with it being garbage (they have a great engine now, and sorted the free running out more in this version) - but probably franchise fatigue. 25 pounds for this quality and this content volume is a good deal, as long as you like the AC formula and want more it.
[email protected]/* to thekitkatshuffler
10 Dec 15#144
Well I voted hot for Divinity OS as mentioned by Turkey but this is the cheapest price for this "garbage"* so it should be hot as well.
*Quoted as I haven't played it so can't really comment on its quality.

They launched it between fifa 16 and Black ops 3 I doubt that did them any favours. This creed game is well worth 25 pound of anyones money. keep dreaming for your tenner deal unless your buying second hand?

I purchased a PS4 during Black Friday and got the £250 voucher booklet.
I just used the £15 off voucher for Assassin's Creed: Syndicate Special Edition so got it for £10.
The voucher says it cannot be used with deal of the week offers but the new temporarily staff didn't know.
Also with the voucher, I got Tomb Raider for £25, the crew wild run £5 and Tearaway for free (£14.99 in store, voucher is for £15 off!).

Inevitable that this would drop in price fairly quickly, probably has a lot to do with sales? Can't say I know of figures, but i'd be surprised if they didn't take a hit after the abomination that was Unity on release.
Either way, hot for the price of a newly released game!

Just started playing black flag. Can't believe how much better it is than Unity and it was released earlier!
What's this like in comparison to the last two?

10 Dec 15#75
AC games have historically (heh) dropped pretty quickly. I don't think I've paid more than £15 each for the past few entries
hwangeruk to Ferrit
10 Dec 15#142
The thing is, Unity is a lovely game. That launch really made them suffer. I feel sorry for the mob mentality hate the game got at launch, a bit OTT. General consensus on the AC forums is this has a better story, tighter controls and the downside being the tedious horse n carts racing with "drifting" which obviously a horse drawn carriage really can't
On Unity, the game needed to be put into Language:French. People moaned about stupid English cor blimey accents in Paris, but just stick it in French and you get English sub titles - so feels more "authentic". I love it.

The Dickens stuff is like ghost hunting and there's also some crime investigating bits which have a young Conan Doyle involved, I think you might get that lobbed in too.
Don't know much about that Belgian passport holding African apart from the only Villa bod I know hated him with a passion when he played for them, never mind after he left. All that premier league stuff is all too main stream for me anyway, we prefer our ASBO existence in the lower echelons of the football league :sunglasses:

Cheers! I read a review and it said the special edition had something to do with an extra Dickens adventure? Wouldn't mind a bit of that myself actually!
Anyway, if your Big Ben version is anything like Benteke, the Big Ben who plays up front for us, does it just do nothing for 65 minutes and then get subbed off? :stuck_out_tongue:

Quick question for gamers, what is the difference between the standard and special edition? I'm buying this for my teenage boys so need to make sure I'm getting the right one!!
Chasloyal to macca888
10 Dec 15#136
Depends what you're calling a special edition, see my pic? That's my Big Ben Edition which I would consider the only real 'special' one, this one I think comes with some free DLC and to be honest I think they all do so it's not really that 'special'
I would rather someone who bought the regular/standard 'special' edition confirmed this though, as mine came with the full season pass
Splashmo
10 Dec 15#135
Special Edition appears to have an extra mission.
...which begs the question. Why would anyone buy the regular edition? Or indeed any of them given the reviews.

AC3 was boring, ACIV Black Flag changed that though and it made the franchise fun again. Unity wasn't great but Syndicate is a step back in the right direction for the franchise - though I'd like them to take more time to make a new entry in the series instead of putting them out on a yearly basis.

Great price for a game that's been out for a short time, easily one of the best AC games and going back to a single player title was a good thing (though it might have been intended to be a coop game).
If you've been burned out on AC games this might not help but if you've only played a couple it'll be worth picking up, some fantastic dialogue and characters make it very enjoyable HOWEVER you're still going to find the usual things that can become repetitive.

3. Don't have to try and keep up with other people on multiplayer

Just says Special Edition (Includes: The Darwin and Dickens Conspiracy Mission)
Artwork different for some reason to what I've seen.
(the banner across the top of the photo should confirm this for you)
I got the biggest collector's edition which came with the season pass included and I got it on PS4 so I never looked in to as much as I would have done.
Though I think they all seem to be coming with the same DLC across the board, just got a feeling there are some DLC missions exclusive to PS4 but once again don't quote me on it
I'm not a gamer. Found the Xbox one option now thank you. Am I right in thinking the special edition is just for ps4?? Seems to come up standard edition for xbox one. Buying for my son. Is standard edition okay please?? TIA

I noticed MediaMarkt had it on a one day special of €40 over here yesterday, the more people that own the full game the more people to buy the DLC is the logic behind all games nowadays unfortunately :disappointed:
Shame when a garbage annual re-issue of a video game gets this hot on HUKD despite still being £25. Knock another tenner off and it's hot, but until then...
*Quoted as I haven't played it so can't really comment on its quality.
I just used the £15 off voucher for Assassin's Creed: Syndicate Special Edition so got it for £10.
The voucher says it cannot be used with deal of the week offers but the new temporarily staff didn't know.
Also with the voucher, I got Tomb Raider for £25, the crew wild run £5 and Tearaway for free (£14.99 in store, voucher is for £15 off!).
surprised they didn't smell a rat when tearaway became free tbh... :s
Either way, hot for the price of a newly released game!
What's this like in comparison to the last two?
On Unity, the game needed to be put into Language:French. People moaned about stupid English cor blimey accents in Paris, but just stick it in French and you get English sub titles - so feels more "authentic". I love it.
Don't know much about that Belgian passport holding African apart from the only Villa bod I know hated him with a passion when he played for them, never mind after he left. All that premier league stuff is all too main stream for me anyway, we prefer our ASBO existence in the lower echelons of the football league :sunglasses:
Anyway, if your Big Ben version is anything like Benteke, the Big Ben who plays up front for us, does it just do nothing for 65 minutes and then get subbed off? :stuck_out_tongue:
I would rather someone who bought the regular/standard 'special' edition confirmed this though, as mine came with the full season pass
...which begs the question. Why would anyone buy the regular edition? Or indeed any of them given the reviews.
So COLD from me despite the price of this.
Looking forwards to running around in my home town! (Too lazy to do it in real life)
Gotta love consistency...
Great find Turks, heat added!
Also already been despatched!
Now I just need Fallout 4 and Lego Dimensions to reduce and I'm done for Crimbo! :stuck_out_tongue:
If you've been burned out on AC games this might not help but if you've only played a couple it'll be worth picking up, some fantastic dialogue and characters make it very enjoyable HOWEVER you're still going to find the usual things that can become repetitive.
Same with fallout 4. I'm holding out for now.
1. The prices will drop significantly
2. Any glitches should be fixed making the games more enjoyable
3. Don't have to try and keep up with other people on multiplayer

It keeps going in and out of stock, so might be worth trying again

Hope I get this before the 5-7 day time it stated in the email though.
This is my Xmas present. Thanks
Cheers Turkey
I spoke to an online agent who was a total muppet... I offered for them to either refund the difference or cancel the previous order.. both of which would have saved me and them time*money but no... I have to go and collect my other order and then return it..
I have reordered using new price for home delivery... shame it will come in stupid game packaging as it will be obvious what it is, but better than paying 40 quid and waiting. I am actually looking forward to going into store and collecting and then saying "return please"
Cheers OP!
Even at this £25, it isnt a bargain. Im waiting for £10 for this title.

Heat added
Used my £3 reward points to make it £22
Thanks anyway, mate
