This is a great trip, one I'm tempted to book myself. April is a great time of year to visit too. You'll spend 1 night in Oslo, 4 nights in San Francisco, 4 in Las Vegas and 6 nights in Los Angeles for just £929.09pp. This includes all flights (WITH LUGGAGE), the resort fee in Las Vegas and SUV rental in Los Angeles. There are ways to make it cheaper such as staying in different hotels or Airbnb, this is an example. I've chosen some great rated hotels based on reviews so you can be certain you'll be staying in good places. Prices based on 2 sharing.
4th April 2016
You’ll fly from London to Oslo Rygge with Ryanair (this price includes hold luggage with Ryanair). You can catch the bus for 150 NOK pp which will take you to the city station. Your hotel is nearby, the City Box in Oslo which is convenient for your day of sightseeing. Of course, you could always take a flight to Oslo on 2nd or 3rd if you wanted to extend your time in Oslo. For things to do on a budget see the link in #4 for how to do Oslo on the cheap.
5th April 2016 – 9th April (4 nights in San Francisco)
You’ll fly to San Francisco today. Your flight goes via London but you can’t miss this flight, you have to go back via London. Flights are with British Airways. Arriving in San Francisco you can either catch public transport or hire a car to explore. As San Francisco has good public transport, I’ve not included car hire. You will stay in San Fran for 4 nights at the La Luna Hotel which has good reviews on Tripadvisor and is ideally located for public transport.
9th April – 13th April (4 nights in Las Vegas)
You will fly with Jet Blue (luggage included) to Las Vegas. I’ve chosen the Excalibur hotel as there is some great rates on there at the moment. The price includes the resort fee (which you will pay on arrival at the hotel). There are much cheaper options in Vegas such as Circus Circus or Stratosphere. You can adjust your hotel to suit.
13th – 19th April (6 nights in LA)
You will fly with Delta to LA today (luggage included). I’ve included SUV hire for LA as you are then free to go further afield and explore LA. Rather than a little car I went for the SUV to make sure you can fit in all your luggage and potential shopping! This is only a little more expensive than a little Hyundai, so well worth it. You’ll stay at the Good Nite Inn Sylmar which has parking and positive reviews praising the location.
19th April 2016
You will fly from LA back to San Francisco with Delta, where you will need to get your luggage and recheck in for your flight back to London with British Airways.
20th April 2016
Your flight arrives back into London.
21st April 2016 (optional)
Your flight leaves London to go back to Oslo, but I guess many people won’t want to take this flight! Never tell the airline you have no intention of doing this. If you want to take the flight back to Oslo, just book a return rather than these multi flight flights.
**To book the flights on Budget Air you will need to search for a multi-flight trip, first leg Oslo-SFO, then SFO-LON, then LON-OSL**
*Breakdown*
2 x Flights from London too Oslo Rygge (£97.98) @ Ryanair
You won't have any cash left after the night in Oslo

As usual, too many snobs saying, "the flight isn't very good", or "the hotel isn't very good".... It really makes me wonder why you lot are on here, it's supposed to be a site offering bargain deals, not expensive, luxury hols-if you want that, GO TO A TRAVEL AGENT! I did NY and Vegas last NYE for 10 days, and it was FANTASTIC! Many thanks rachelandgromit for posting!!

Circus Circus and Stratosphere are much cheaper. You can spend more and choose a different hotel.

not worth it thought due the location, youll spend just as much on taxis and wont have that great feeling of walking on to the strip each morning

No way I'd stay 4 nights in Vegas, or 6 in LA, or would I fly Vegas to LA. Hire a car and drive around! After 1/2 a day in Vegas you will want to drive the hell out of there, see Hoover dam, Grand Canyon, Valley of Fire, Bryce Canyon in Utah etc.
Then drive to San Francisco along the coast route (1) etc.

You really are missing something by not driving the PCH and flying to/from LAX->SFO. We drove up from LA to San Francisco and back last year - the PCH on the drive back is truly amazing... The I5 up in the middle of the desert not so much. Vegas is only about 4.5 hours from LAX driving so is perfectly doable by car. Just don't stay long. We stayed 3 nights - had 2 full days there, one of which was spent mostly at the Hoover Dam. Vegas is a weird, BUSY place... wouldn't have wanted longer there... but I'd go back... for the same length of time, no more.
Our last holiday came in around the £1k mark, so just a little more than this. That was 3 nights in Vegas, 4 nights in Flagstaff and 8 in LA - flew with United and stayed in better hotels... so this isn't that spectacular-a-deal. Unless you wanna go to Oslo and love planes/airports

Not seen any particularly good flights from Manchester, however if you fancy a short city trip in Stockholm first I'd keep an eye on flights to Vegas from Stockholm. Earlier this week return flights were £179, they are just over £200 now but I suspect they'll drop again.

You can adjust this itinerary to suit and as the previous poster said, hire a car and do more driving. Depending on your interests you can spend more or less time in each place. If you are planning to do the amusement parks etc and with the hire SUV then 6 days in Los Angeles may be just right. Fiddle with the itinerary to suit.

seems like a great idea, does anyone else worry that they'll get halfway through booking it and something you haven't booked yet will sell out or drastically change in price?

I'd get your flights sorted first, so get them all open on different tabs. You can then work on your hotels. Or like me I end up with about 10 different tabs open at the same time!
To be honest they have had some bad reviews, as have most online travel agents. I used them today with the code they currently have for £15 off any flight from the UK and my Icelandair tickets came within 5 minutes. I have also used them a few times in the past.

Excalibur is fine. And you probably won't be spending much time there anyway as you can walk in to any hotel you want to go to the Casino's etc.

I found Vegas a bit surreal and I'm probably one of the few people who wouldn't want to go back. I did love hiking in the South Rim of the Grand Canyon though....
Just do it lol go for 8 nights, if you like it youll be going back guranteed, if you dont then no harm done

Delta? BA? I don't think either are terrible! OK Ryanair, I know that's not the best... Terrible would be Air Europa or Air China......
With Vegas people have so many different opinions, you put Circus Circus or Stratosphere up and everyone moans. You put an off strip hotel up and people complain it's not on the strip. It's because of the extortionate air passenger duty charged within the EU.
Flying from Norway you're not subject to this.

it seems so daft with air travel these days, you fly further using more fuel yet its cheaper??
considering how much people whine about climate change you'd have thought laws would have been brought in to make sure direct flights are the cheapest option

2 Dec 15#14
Your hold luggage will be checked through from San Francisco to Oslo on the return so no chance of dropping the last Heathrow to Oslo leg. BA are clamping down heavily on this. The only option would be to go hand baggage only.

I'm not much of a driver - what sort of price is an internal flight Vegas-LA, versus renting an SUV?

The SUV is only for the 6 days in LA so you could explore LA and further afield. This includes a flight from Vegas to LA. You don't have to hire the SUV in LA though, I guess you could just use public transport to get about.

Strangely enough, there is ANOTHER Trustpilot review of BudgetAir.CO.UK (not .com which is quite GOOD!
You have the hotel and transportation to and from the airport, it's only food you need and touristy type things. Failing that pack some pot noodles and monster munch :stuck_out_tongue::laughing:
