There is nothing different between Anchor and the cheaper butters like Tesco's own now that Arla have taken over production. Anchor used to creamy and a deeper colour because it was from free range New Zealand cows that live outdoors. Now it is made from milk from giant factory farms from cows that never or rarely go outdoors. It's a shame because Anchor used to be lovely butter and the best for baking. Save 11p and buy the supermarket's own brands for 89p because it's exactly the same apart from the packaging.

Margarine is better value. And you get a lot more ingredients for your money.

You can't buy margarine in the UK... not according to QI at least!
