It is not telescopic it is a folding ladder.
Maplin one for £49 when they have a sale on is good enough, however the true telescopic ones are better, fold up smaller and more expensive.

I have the Screwfix ladder and that is not the same, these Screwfix ladders are super heavy duty, very sturdy. Downside is that they are heavy to carry around.

also mine is heavy duty, made by Titan, but this people also make the pro version at a higher price: http://www.titanladders.co.uk/product-category/trade/folding-trade/ only the cheaper one can be found on ebay.
they claim are made by themselves but surely do come from the fareast. Screwfix is just confirmed they come from there, the fareast. Can I ask you something? by the look of the advert on screwfix site, looks like that there is a discrepancy between the advert and the measurement stated. Measurement might be belonging to the 9 steps. Is yours 4 or 5 rungs??? Very curious and when I will have a moment I will take a personal look at the nearest branch.

Think there is some TCB on this too.
