not just the 'illegal' downloads but also every free app and service and some of the paid ones
you'll be surprised how hard it is to find a box that plays netflix, iplayer, youtube, 4OD and so on all on one box. and sky go - the only way you can get footy matches on the big screen is via a PC/MAC rather than iPad or chromecast etc
this also lets you play local video (e.g. from your phone/camera, or rips you've made of your own DVDs), and music too (spotify, your own mp3s)
whatever your niche, it'll most likely be easier through this (streaming football matches....)
basically, it plugs in to the TV and is far more versatile than a dedicated TV box/device (like the nexus player or roku or apple TV). it's a full computer and you can even browse the web on the big TV
the remote is a good touch for this particular model, made for the living room

Just to let anyone interested know - I did not need to mess around with anything to boot from USB, nor did I need to enter BIOS.

After updating to Windows 10, all you have to do is click the Start button -> Settings -> Update and recovery -> Recovery and then click restart now under advanced restart. From here, you can select boot from USB. I believe this is also possible using Windows 8.1, should you need it.

I'm installing Windows 10 on my SSD as we speak.

I hope you get an answer to this because I am getting an SSD in the next couple of days (it's under the tree already).

I have upgraded to Win10 on the main drive and I boot from a USB for Openelec.

With the SSD I am hoping to dual boot. From what I have read you need to install Win10 first so I was going to install that from scratch using a USB image.I was then going to follow this for Openlec http://www.pcworld.com/article/2955460/operating-systems/dual-booting-linux-with-windows-what-you-need-to-know.html

Hopefully someone can confirm the best way of doing it>

Did the beast not show up, I had trouble on a friends and there is a workaround for the last bit on the video I linked to.
If you haven't changed your "Folder Options" to display hidden folders you will not see the AppData folder. There for go into Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization>Folder Options>Show Hidden Files and Folders and then make sure that it's selected.

mine worked straight away never even knew Openelec had a Bluetooth toggle on/off setting, Lol Perhaps on initial start up it recognised I had a Bluetooth usb installed and set up accordingly..

I have sorted mine, I booted into Lunix "Gparted" software selected the 120gb drive and really easily "Move/resized" my partitions from the unallocated space, to max out my storage within the drive 102gb storage!!!!..

I'm yet to try "GParted" on my main windows drive, But pretty confident I can resize the partitions in that drive too..It's a great piece of software.

5 Dec 15 1 #356
You most probably could use the 120gb for storage if you install Openelec using Linux but that is beyond me!

I now see Bluetooth is disabled by default in Openelec....I have just enabled it so hopefully I will be able to use it when I have set up the system and put it in the living room. I seem to remember having problems before with Openelec and Bluetooth so lets hope they are now sorted.

I have just got Openelec installed using 2 USB's. I followed the Pi link I gave above. I could not get the SD card to load so I used a second USB for the SYSTEM and copied the latest version to it as this http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php/HOW-TO:Installing_OpenELEC/Creating_The_Install_Key#tab=Windows

Once installed you only need to keep the Storage USB connected. Bluetooth is disabled on Openelec!

I think I have totally missed vital steps installing Openelec....I just installed it to a formatted HDD 120gb..

When I think I needed to install it to sd card or another usb and use Gparted to map the 120gb hdd as storage??..

I don't know totally confused now?. I would ideally like Openelec on the 120gb hardrive as it is now and use the unused hdd space as storage?? Is that possible?.. Don't really want sd/usb to run Openelec

The USB marked STORAGE on the Pi set up does not show in Windows. Is it anything to do with file system EXT 4?
mxer450
4 Dec 15 #351
I may have to start again then, lol...cheers, I knew something wasn't right? Just my head is hurting reading so much, and now I got to find out how to sort that..

Can't have a 120gb hdd only showing/using a few mb's...

Also I would of thought Windows "my computer" would of been showing as a secondary drive but it's not showing just the partitioned 1tb?
Shaker
4 Dec 15 #350
Yes as soon as you put the Openelec installation files on a HD/USB/SD the free space on them goes to almost zero. For instance I have just checked the 8gb sd card with the installation files and it's showing 95.9mb of 255mb.
On the Pi link the SD had to be marked SYSTEM and the USB had to be marked storage. The installation files went on the SD card and the USB had to be empty but file system EXT4 had to be used

When I put Openelec on my Pi it was very straightforward. I know I used special Pi installation files but there was not any space for storage.
mxer450
4 Dec 15 #349
Yes I installed on a 120gb hdd, because it was asking me to select a destination hdd (and only showing windows 1tb disk) that's why I whacked the 120gb in there...

It's working super awesome!!!...dualboot f12 shows both drives select and of you go, I did spot an issue though??.

Checking the systems hardware (all my media on the 1tb drive) it's showing as storage 100% on the 120gb drive???? There's nothing on there???...I'm guesing it's written a image on a tiny part of the 120gb drive and not reading the reast?

I can remember writing partitions (GPart) on sd cards years ago through Lunix to gain more storage on a bigger sd card for openelec on Pi's as it would only see the image and the rest of the card is wasted but I can't remember?..

So it's not perfect yet, Although showing at 100% full still no errors when scanning and adding fan art/addons etc? so I don't know what's going on?.
Shaker
4 Dec 15 #348
Yes, I have been using 8 and 16gb usb/cards so that can't be the problem.

I see you mention the Pi and you are correct that it's quite easy to install Openlec on the Pi using usb/card so why is it so hard to install it on usb/card for the Revo One? Perhaps it's because there is no other HD available.

This is a rather belt and braces approach to installing on the Pi http://www.noobsandnerds.com/forums/index.php?topic=137.0 I was wondering if you loaded Openelec on a SD card and used a usb for storage as the link above for Pi if it would work on the Revo . I do not want to lose win 10 on the main hdd!

I don't want to buy an extra hard drive but it looks like I have no alternative if I want the two systems on the Revo.

Thanks for your replies. I have now got it to boot from both the usb and sd card.
During the installation I was only given the option to install on the main 1tb drive or the usb/sd card.So it was either wiping the whole hard drive because it did not show any of the partitions or installing on the usb/sd.I didn't mind installing on the usb or sd card but the installation stalled on both drives at 80 per cent. Back to the drawing board.

I have?...ignore the 1234 boot menu that's showing in the bios..

You need to have the usb/ad card in go to bios, boot menu,

Just under the 1234 boot menu is another tab involving boot menu, select it and it will have to boot disks "you windows disk, and the make of your usb/sd device"

Windows is default 1 usb/sd is 2 ...move your usb/sd to 1 (the top)..

Save and exit and it will boot you usb/sd..

If I wasn't copying atm I'd give you a screen shot...

Disable secure boot, then change the boot from always/never or whichever one it isn't. Change to usb boot first. Then enable f12 boot. Reboot using f12. USB will be only device can select. Sorry can't be more specific but mine has gone to Acer to be fixed after faulty RAM!

The only way I can get out of the 'Reboot and Select proper Boot Device or Insert Boot Media' loop is to go back to the BIOS set up and re enable secure boot . It will then boot to Win10 but it seems there is no way I can boot from USB or SDCARD
mxer450
2 Dec 15 #333
I think I'm sorted..and I'm in the bios

I have disabled secure boot and usb to boot..

Installed Openelec on a 120gb spare drive I had in hdd2

Now i f12 Openelec/Windows works great!..

I was confused as I thought Openelec was going to run from usb? But it wanted to install? Hence why I found a spare drive. But that's ok as it won't take up a usb port.

Now just got to figure out f12 on the media remote they supply, which may be a struggle as it hasn't got one, lol.

Wonder if the media remote supplied can be configured to enable me to f12 on it??

I upgraded mine to Windows 10 without waiting for the 8.1 updates, it activated straight away. I then put one of the 120GB SSDs that Dabs were selling at the weekend for £26.99. I next booted from a memory stick with the Windows 10 setup files on. I chose to delete all partitions on the 1TB drive and install Windows on the SSD. I then had to install a few drivers from the Acer site and now have a nice, reasonably quick and silent pc with plenty of storage space. Thank you OP.

All I get is 'Reboot and Select proper Boot Device or Insert Boot Media in selected device and press a key' so I took the SD card out and replaced it with a USB dongle and still got the same message.

2 Dec 15 1 #323
You need to change both secure boot and then in the boot menu the option at the top that says never to always. It is a bit unclear but then 4 different options in black will appear below it. Enable the F12 boot menu. Reboot and keep tapping the F12 button. When windows 10 has installed and restarted the computer remove the USB stick as it will try to boot from that again otherwise.

I had a problem getting into the BIOS. In the end I read you should keep the power button pressed for 10 seconds and then press Delete on power up. It's Delete not F2.

I still had problems when I got into the BIOS. Changing the first boot device to Removable Device did not work for either an SD Card or a USB Dongle.

Apparently you have to go to Authentication first and change Secure Boot to Disabled (you also have to do something else) but that still did not work.

All I got at start up was attach device and try again even though the sd card first and then the usb was inserted.

1. Is the Windows 10 going to be deleted if I don't update when the pop up comes?

Does Windows 10 come free with The Acer Revo?

2. If I don't delete my apps and data when requested it will only slow down my computer later on but what shall I delete and which files and where from?

If I don't touch anything let Windows update stuff and don't delete would that be a problem in the future??

One last thing does the Windows 8 or Windows 10 software Cd comes with it separately or its already installed please help thanks to all the repllys much appreciated

1 No you have until next year sometime to make your mind up, I think then Windows are almost forcing the install. It will just keep coming up, reminding you.
2 It depends on what you do, browsing etc you may not notice, more intense work you may notice. All pc's slow down over time with all the cr** we put on them.
3 W8.1 is preinstalled, free upgrade to w10 and you can find the product key using some software but it's not easy and I wouldn't suggest it. There are no cd's.
It's not the quickest pc at all but well worth the money I feel and the size is great.

30 Nov 15 #302
I'm not sure I fully understand what you are asking. But when you upgrade to Windows 10 you are given the option to keep everything - which may be a good idea so you can decide what you do & don't want to keep later. There is no recovery cd or product code - you don't need them anymore. You can roll back to Windows 8.1 - no disks required.
lugsy3
30 Nov 15 #300
Got mine today, the neighbour took it in yesterday. Started it up and it immediately updated 8.1 then reboot "do I want to upgrade to w10" yes-2 hours later on infinity all done. When you install w10 I suggest you do customize install, I have done a lot of this, why because Microsoft want all your information eg browsing, typing, searching etc so they can spam you with adverts and apps etc. Don't believe me then choose customize and see what is already selected eg inking data. Very much like Google and indeed Apple it seems.
After that I am now getting rid of the bloatware via control panel eg, Mcafee ( I hate it, defender is good enough) all the other rubbish eg ebay, booking.com etc. Some of the apps are just in the start menu easiest way right click uninstall. I tried a 1080 8 gig film and no problem whatsover, very impressed. 2 spaces free for swappable drives which I will add later on. Bargain, thanks op

Yep. Never understood why people wait. I might be invited to have to a beer in my local - but I might die of thirst waiting.

Just open a web browser & go to

https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10ISO

Follow the instructions & dependant on your broadband you should be done in a hour or so.

Perfectly legit & above board.

Just switch it on and have a play (get used to the remote, button on side to activate mouse) if your not using your own..

You can't hurt or ruin anything just having a play out of the box even if you skip update to Windows 10 now prompts just have a play, when you've finished shut down hopefully the updates would of registered by then, let it update its self while its shutting down...

Fire up, check you have the Windows 10 icon in the bottom right (means it's ready for 10), then google win 10 media creation tool and run it, pick regions win 10 (all defaults but check) follow the easy steps..

The only thing you need to decide yourself is if you would like to keep your files and apps ( factory bloat apps) only you can decide what to keep, but it's all or nothing, hence why I chose nothing, but I did need to update graphics driver after for some reason.

Good luck,

Disclaimer just sharing what I did, I'm no pro? Google is your friend

You have to reserve your copy of Windows 10 and it downloads periodically, usually in a few days. If I were you I'd uninstall all of the bloatware as a lot of previous posters have done first off. This is free software included by Acer which will serve little or no purpose other than to slow the machine down. Then run one pass of Windows 8 updates. Now you can use the machine with relative ease and worry about upgrading to 10 at a later date. I only know 7 well but if the upgrade from 8 to 10 is anything like that it normally goes as follows. You run Windows update a few times and Microsoft filters through various updates. Eventually you will see a Windows flag in the system tray offering you the 10 upgrade. You have to click on this to reserve it. Even then it will probably take a couple of days for the upgrade files to filter through as it is more than 2.0GB if I remember correctly. When it is fully downloaded it will prompt you to install it. Hope this helps.

Yes you do, for the system/ms severs to register it's eligible for the Windows 10 update...

Little Windows upgrade window in the bottom right in the running processes taskbar after the updates, the your ready to use the media creation update tool..

Half way through the Windows 10 upgrade process you have an option to

1, keep aps and files
2, just files
3, keep nothing

I chose "keep nothing".. and it's clean..

Only issue I had was I had to update the graphics (intel) driver through "device manager) as hdmi sound was missing..
mxer450
30 Nov 15 #285
I've upgraded to 10 on mine straight away as soon as the 160 updates installed...

I used the media tool available through Google on the Microsoft website..

I chose the "keep nothing" option...and from what I can see it's clean as, nothing on it., obviously still has the partitions tho..

So from unbox to fresh 10 (ethernet) took about 2hrs.. most of that was the 160 updates for 8.1..

I'm really interested in dual boot kodiunbuntu (sp) so going to have a read on that...

Keep your setups coming, great read..

Hi there. I'm in the same boat. I reckon you've got no chance for the following reasons. 1. It hasn't been 48 hours of working days and as soon as it has they will cancel it. 2. No idea. I do run KODI on my Macs and desktop via windows and had openelec version on a Pi. All of my PCs are i5 or i7 though....even runs ok on core duo macbook....main reason I did this was on my old Revo r3610 kodi via windows really struggled but kodibuntu was amazing (think in part to windows version not using the GPU) so on a lower powered machine I would always dual boot windows/kodibuntu.

If you upgrade to W10 first and then do a fresh install however you want it defo saves the activation information in the BIOS. You just need to click skip when asks for serial number. I did this on this machine before it decided to die and on 2 other machines. Just make sure when downloading the W10 iso using the windows 10 tool to select the 64bit, UK Home version of 10 and it will work fine. Everything else you said is spot on but do upgrade before clean install. I'm now jealous as my new toy is going back to Acer for repair or replace (would of sent back to eBuyer but they won't have any left obviously!)

Hi Benny
Do you keep the stock HDD in same place and just install SSD in the side caddy? Can I clone the main HDD to SSD? My skill may be able to manage this far - will it know to boot from SSD thereafter? Oh what size SSD do you need to run this way? Sorry for the questions but you seem to have your setup nailed.
NO1FAN to zone_player
30 Nov 15 1 #272
Use this guide to clone and migrate to SSD http://lifehacker.com/5837543/how-to-migrate-to-a-solid-state-drive-without-reinstalling-windows

Do it early and will save hassle later. Fine to keep hard drives where they are
djbenny1 to zone_player
30 Nov 15 #275
yes just keep the stock HDD as is - you can't easily access it anyway.

in my post above, i totally forgot that most people will want to use the windows 10 license that comes with the pc.

i didn't as i needed windows 10 pro whereas your free upgrade will only get you windows 10 home (has missing features i need).

the only way i could recommend in this scenario is:

1) delete all the bloatware in control panel until you get the computer to the point you want it regarding installed stock software - don't install any of your own programmes
2) install windows 10 to the HDD using the wizard in the task bar (will probably take a long time to the HDD)
3) once you have the entire thing running windows 10 on the HDD, turn it off and install the SSD in the slot
4) Go to this link and follow instructions
5) once youve booted to windows 10 on the SSD, make sure your copy of windows is activated before you wipe the old HDD. i believe oem copies that ship with computers are more fussy when reinstalling so be careful.
6) i've never done this before but those steps should leave you with windows 10 installed on the SSD and an empty (but partitioned) original HDD. the issue is that i don't believe you can delete those partitions without a) third party software or b) running the windows install wizard which may break your windows install.

hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me can advise on that - the entire process was easier for me because i didn't need to worry about keeping the existing key.

i think what im trying to say is just be careful and aware that there is a risk you won't be able to use the stock OEM activation key once you have upgraded if you replace the hard drive.
djbenny1 to zone_player
30 Nov 15 #281
PS my SSD is only 128gb and i don't expect to ever fill it.

i only put windows and programmes on there, all media goes on the HDD.

mine is set up now as I intend to keep it and i've only used less than 30GB on the SSD. don't think there'll ever be more than 60 used.

30 Nov 15 #278
cantonbean maybe knows more about activations than i do, but i would warn everybody to be prepared to lose your activation before you do anything. just be aware of the risk is all.

i would like to believe he is right though and if you upgrade first you'll be OK. you will have the partition issue though I think
djbenny1
30 Nov 15 #277
potentially - create a system image of the 8.1 install before you upgrade anything but yes i believe there is definitely a risk you will lose your windows activation.

as i said I didn't need mine anyway
cantonbean
30 Nov 15 #276
No but it is important you upgrade to windows 10 BEFORE you do follow this process from the default 8.1 install. It will then save the W10 key in your BIOS. Also dont upgrade the BIOS after the issues I am having! TBF they are taking it in as I think the RAM failed by sheer bad luck post BIOS update!

djbenny1 to reserves
30 Nov 15 #271
1) create a windows 10 boot usb
2) backup anything you want to keep before upgrading
3) you may also want to create a system image of windows 8.1 before you completely wipe the stock hard drive - I didn't personally
3) install the SSD in slot
4) boot to the USB stick
5) choose clean install for windows 10
6) delete all the partitions on the stock HDD in the wizard (but don't create a new one)
7) create a new partition on the SSD and format it if necessary
8 ) install windows onto the SSD
9) follow the rest of the easy steps

think that covers it, everything there can be looked up online, its pretty easy

EDIT - THIS IS PROBABLY WRONG FOR MOST PEOPLE AS IT ASSUMES YOU HAVE YOUR OWN WINDOWS 10 KEY LIKE I HAD. SEE BELOW

I would de bloat first via control panel. Then update to w10 then visit acer site for latest drivers. There may well be better drivers for the wifi. Can you run an ethernet cable to it? I would always suggest this especially for updates and streaming. If not maybe homeplugs? Ssd will help but i personally wont worry as i will be limiting to movies and footy streaming.

Yes, as I said install Windows 10 on a SSD and use the existing drive as mass storage after deleting the partitions and reformatting.

For me any computer now should have OS on SSD by default so I wouldn't begrudge buying one if I didn't already have a spare.

WiFi mines been OK but earlier today I connected it to ethernet instead and it's in a different league to be fair but that's just wifi in general, my phone is just the same.

To give you an idea of capability, a little earlier I was downloading some files at 4MB/s, Picasa was running and scanning my thousand or so photos for faces and I was streaming a full 1080p movie to my TV using plex. And the cpu was at 85% or so doing all that at the same time. Just now I had about 20+ tabs open on Microsoft Edge browser and it was still more than usable.

Unbelievable little thing.

Also straight out of the box I checked the cpu performance and it was 98% and didn't drop below even though there were no programmes running.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

quite a good idea but of course could have just had two to save all hassle.

GPU acceleration usually depends on the codecs used as well as the capabilities of the media player being used.

Stuff like Kodi/Plex.etc does tend to be able to take advantage of the GPU offload in various chipsets/graphics cards, web based players/services usually depends on what underlying technology they're using (E.g flash, silverlight, html5.etc) as well as in some cases which browser you are using.

Also make sure a recent version of any graphics drivers have been installed.

remote desktop is working both on lan and on internet, plex installed, itunes etc. etc. all my media will be going on the stock drive.

it performs really nicely with a ssd for general computing, internet etc is fine but you do notice the impact when you start playing videos etc. its struggling with that in particular to be honest.

when playing virtually any video of a reasonable quality, cpu shoots up to 99% and pretty much stays there. not sure how its going to handle full hd stuff, but id be amazed if it is perfect in terms of not stuttering etc, its stuttering a bit for me on youtube 1080p... :/

it only comes with 8.1 basic (upgradeable to windows 10 home, which doesnt have remote desktop hosting which i need.

Because they didn't give any choice or an instant refund to those who fall into "stock problem" that's a really **** service, they should give a refund right away if they don't going to get more stock, or inform a little better about what is going to happen.
They still have my money, and they didn't reply my emails or tickets or give me a refund, and also the system doesn't let me cancel my order, so I'm right to be unhappy.

here you go - everything except Google Chrome and MetaTrader are original.

I kept Acer revo suite and RLLEDCtrl as for revo suite I think it genuinely has some useful features but may get rid of it later. For the other one it's mainly because I don't know what it does but judging by the name I'm guessing it may be linked to the LEDs on top of the unit itself so didn't touch it. The acer hotkey thing is useful too but you can delete that if you want. everything else is crap and should go (especially mcafee antivirus).

http://imgur.com/268aUTH

EDIT. i deleted revo suite as well, its crap too. also make sure you delete mcafee sitescreen or whatever the other one is, theyre both junk

2 options really i believe, you can either go one by one through control panel "uninstall or change a programme" (long winded and requires a lot of reboots) or (although this is probably above your level) you can wipe the entire thing and clean install windows.

im doing the former as the latter will probably invalidate warranty.

PS. when I'm finished ill upload a screenshot of what's left so that you only have the necessary stuff

I thought I read (on comments to one of the review links above) that one of the 2 slots on this base model is not wired up?

If I put a SSD in a spare slot can I tell it to boot off that in place of the concealed central drive? or do I have to get into its core to swap around?

Advice on how and what to de-bloat would be appreciated for the non techie.

So many unhappy costomers, Ebuyer you should be ashamed.
djbenny1 to csvrhill
28 Nov 15 #186
errr.... why?

because this site generated so much demand for this item in such a short period of time it went out of stock on ebuyer while people were still ordering??

there's always an element of risk with these deals that get really hot - invariably some people miss out / they mess something up.

if hotukdeals didn't exist you'd probably never have known about the deal anyway and would be none the wiser so stop crying

Has anyone seen that they've reduced the next model up, the 2tb one? Is it worth paying the extra £60 or am I better off getting the Mac mini from pcworld for £299?
Thanks
cantonbean to leedunning88
27 Nov 15 #169
Not in my opinion as £60 for an extra 1gb HDD is far too much... If your using this as a media device or light PC the revo is the better deal here but add on the money and the Mac mini is better as the i5 will destroy this... Check review I posted comparing the i5 model of this PC.... The Mac mini could be your sole machine especially using Mac OS (4gb fine but no so much on windows) where as this is probably couldn't be due to processor! Hope this helps!
rvcshart to leedunning88
27 Nov 15 #171
No, HDD space isn't worth 60£ for that. If it was a better CPU sure, although I guess @ £160 it's a nice deal if the £99 one never existed.

I'll not find out if my order was confirmed till Monday most likely :disappointed:. I'd not ordered from Ebuyer since moving, they never asked for a new billing address until 4hours after placing the order etc.

Maybe, maybe not.
Alot of the really cheap Android kits technically run kodi and will decode videos, but the experience in the menu system, as well as their flexibility around unusual formats is no substitute to having a desktop-class CPU.
Whilst i wouldnt say this is the definitive device, it is small, quite funky looking, and if you only have a TB of video to store then its amazing that it could all fit on the one device.
And for only £100, i remain of the view that it's a good buy, and a great Kodi machine.

27 Nov 15 1 #56
You connect it to to your tv then you can download movies from the net (legally I hope)and watch on your tv. My intentions are to do this and stream the footy via it on to a 42", been doing it for years but my old pc is dying and can't handle blu rays too well.
DennisG to Gollywood
27 Nov 15 3 #147
not just the 'illegal' downloads but also every free app and service and some of the paid ones
you'll be surprised how hard it is to find a box that plays netflix, iplayer, youtube, 4OD and so on all on one box. and sky go - the only way you can get footy matches on the big screen is via a PC/MAC rather than iPad or chromecast etc
this also lets you play local video (e.g. from your phone/camera, or rips you've made of your own DVDs), and music too (spotify, your own mp3s)
whatever your niche, it'll most likely be easier through this (streaming football matches....)
basically, it plugs in to the TV and is far more versatile than a dedicated TV box/device (like the nexus player or roku or apple TV). it's a full computer and you can even browse the web on the big TV
the remote is a good touch for this particular model, made for the living room

im buying this with the intention of hopefully using it as an always on pc i can connect to remotely and trade forex on.

power consumption should be really low and fingers crossed its powerful enough - at this price i had to try

was planning on a self build mini gaming pc at about £400 before i saw this but i can sacrifice the gaming if this covers everything else i need.

That makes no sense, as they wouldn't bother making two internal chassis, it wouldn't be cost effective to produce two separate chassis, unless it's just missing the plastic doc.

https://youtu.be/hGz_m_SxGYo?t=103 - check how they come apart.

Surely someone sells them if it doesn't.

The Revo ONE features a spacious 2 TB hard drive for storing plenty of multimedia, along with two empty disc drive bays for expanding storage up to a maximum of 6 TB.

I see no reason this wouldn't handle them perfectly fine, even without SSD.

A decent HDD can stream a 10gb blueray easily, long as the correct software is being used. Read speeds of a HDD are not that slow. We're talking of reading the 10gb file over 90+ minutes, that gives it a ton of buffering time etc.

Not sure why you would put an SSD in this for a media PC really, just making the OS a bit more smooth I guess. But in windows 10 I've really not noticed any difference between HDD and SSD for that, not like it was in previous builds.

I've just bought one of these to setup as a server in the other room, my Raspberry Pi 2 is **** me off, I want a full beefy Plex server and the pi just aint cutting it. So this can go in the other room and the Pi can become a plex player instead.
