We use our 6.5ltr slow cooker for our family of 4 and it's lovely every time. You must either have a duff one of just don't know how to use it properly. :smirk:

Paid £16.99 a few weeks ago @ Aldi because it was a bargain at that price - I live alone and I made a lamb casserole/stew with chopped knuckle of lamb and loads of veg - ate some day 1 and day 2 and froze the rest - you can't beat cheap home cooked nutritional and tasty food.
@ £9.99 it's a steal
And if you have problems with it burning..... go search for some common sense and if you find it for sale don't pick the cheap option again.

Well you shouldn't put the kids in it then.

Turns out a 6.5l slow cooker is too big for a family of 5 and burns the s**t out of everything you put in it.

How can you burn it? I think you may have let it get too dry? You have to keep the fluids topped up to be effective.

I put it on in the morning and went to work, the whole idea of a slow cooker.

I use my slow cooker probably twice a week. Its a godsend when you're on the go and you have a gorgeous meal ready when you get in. Give it a go and start getting your moneys worth!

I got a JML star chef about five years ago for my christmas from my son (my request) and still haven't used it... I think the problem is that it takes up too much work surface so it's in a cupboard out of sight / mind. I'm moving house next week and fully intend to start using it!
The 6.5 litre slow cooker is MASSIVE. I wasn't joking before when I said you could bathe a new baby in the pot! Don't buy this unless you are a family, and even then, you like to freeze some of the food. I did ribs in mine which were wonderful but quite a lot of ribs lay in the bottom of the pot looking somewhat lonely!

Goodness - so many complaints ...
Yes, it's big. So you can buy multipacks of chicken legs or offcuts etc and it becomes more economical.
Once cooked, freeze the surplus ready for another meal.
Then put it away somewhere!
£9.99 for 6.5L (1.3 gallons) is just awesome. Voted Hot.
