I had these lights the past few years..In fact I had 3 sets in 2 years and now don't have any as all 3 didn't turn out to be as waterproof as they suggested.
They did have a warranty with mine as well but the small print advised to switch off in the rain. :/...
Hope these are a new design and they are actually now waterproof.

You can easily use 50mtrs with 400 LED lights on a decent sized tree...
We have 50 mtrs on one tree and 40mtrs on another.

Just as guide we've just used 32m of lights on a 6ft tree and that was ample.
