If like me you missed the Tesco deal for white LED lights (you can still get blue and multi coloured at Tesco for £12.50) and need new tree lights, Argos currently have 240 bright or warm multi function LED lights for £14.99.
I've just finished the tree and they're very nice on.
Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Functions include: Combination, steady on, in waves, sequential, chasing/flash, SLO-GLO, step lighting and slow fade.
6m lead length.
Transformer must be placed indoors

What I always worry about with the LED lights is what happens if one burns out - or if you accidentally break the bulb.
The vast majority of these have non-replaceable bulbs. Furthermore, although they are 10x more efficient, a string of 200 regular fairly lights only uses up to 60W - less than a normal lightbulb. For something that's on a few days a year, I prefer a conventional system that has easily replaceable components. It will cost less in the long run, and the most "green" thing you can do is consume less and throw away less

An LED can fail due to a manufacturing fault, however they last many thousands of hours compared to just a few hundred for incandescent fairy lights. You can not easily break an LED they are made from solid epoxy not glass so you can stand on them and not cause any damage.

I went in there first but they only had the coloured or blue ones left at the one in Linlithgow but they had some other really nice lights.

Argos lights are far better quality than most of the current B&M range, I think the 200 £9.99 sets are battery operated anyway using D cells.

No they're mains powered ....and not B&M specific but same ones that are common in most other shops.
Thought quality was pretty good.....am using mine outdoor.
I bought 3 sets .....200's, 400's & 1000....all multi-coloured and 8 mode displays.
Whoops, I always get Home Bargains and B&M mixed up for some reason. I also have no issues with B&M lights its the ones from Home B that i've found to poor quality, sorry about that.
