I was able to apply one to MY xbox Live, which is due to expire Jan 2016,and it worked.

I also added the other one to stepson xbox Live expires in April 2016.

I believe the stacking restrictions mean that you can't use two codes on same account to add 24 months.

Adding one 12 month code worked fine on each / both of the accounts I added to,which had 2 months / 5 months left respectively.

I don't know why they say you can't stack subscriptions. I bought two for £18.89 each on Friday and applied both codes to my Xbox live account without any problems. My live gold subscription extended from 26/12/2015 to 26/12/2017.

As for stacking, I had 3 months left, and the code worked just fine.

It's a pile of **** though as I said. The codes stack on an existing subscription with absolutely no problem.

I think what that cd keys message actually means is that you can't add 2 years at once not that you can't stack codes on an existing sub. So if you say have 18 months left on your xb live you can easily add 1 more year to have 2 1/2 years left.

This IS Xbox Live Gold. Xbox Live just means the online aspect of Xbox.
By default, you get Silver access, which allows you to do basic online stuff such as browse the store, access iPlayer, Netflix etc
If you want to do ONLINE multiplayer, then you need to upgrade to Gold access, which is what this offer is all about, it gets you a year of Gold access.
If you want to just do multiplayer for two or more people on the same xbox, then you don't need gold for that.

Also worth mentioning, that you don't need to get multiple gold subscriptions for everyone that goes on the xbox - one person gets gold, and 'shares' it with anyone else who accesses that xbox.

I have seen this no stacking policy mentioned on Reddit threads a few times however I just extended my sub from 30/12/16 to 30/12/17 today with one of these codes without a problem. I am not sure why MS would change a policy like that anyway. It seems really petty to that especially when you can stack the PSN membership no problem.

Yeah think most include online for free with xbox live, just the odd one that needs online access codes, normally included with new games but if you buy a second hand game might need to purchase online code separately? Can't remember what game it was that it happened to me? Lol

This IS Gold. Basically Gold is what you want if you play multiplayer games. Xbox Live Silver is just marketing nonsense, no reason for it to be called that as there's no Bronze or anything. Silver is free and just lets you use the Xbox offline for the most part (you can see who is online i.e. friends but can't speak to them, Silver just connects to the servers and keeps telling you what you're missing such as free games for Gold)

I've had Xbox Live for 6 years now (Gold) and this is the best price I've ever seen. Get it if you want to play online games!

I think all are, I realise that's a sweeping statement so there's a chance I've missed one but to my knowledge the only game that was ever going to charge an additional subscription fee to play was Elder Scrolls Online but they scrapped that before release after uproar.

I presume you just add this to your existing live subscription and it extends it by 12 months, i.e it does not run 12 months from the date you use it thus losing the 2 months I still have to run.

They run consecutively -I.e. 2+12 = 14. I Have my kids stacked up for 18 to 24m
