There's only 3 in my household, but we buy 25kg of potatoes, 10kg of carrots and 5-10kg of onions at a time, all gets used. Just needs storing correctly so it doesn't go off. We store most of ours in the outside shed and just bring in a weeks supply at a time
onions from supermarkets are rubbish usually full of water like their bacon
get locally grown onions preferably hung and aged for a while
then a few slices in you cheese butty is all thats needed not a whole onion to get the taste

Crying is what makes you human. You're building all of these emotions up until you explode ... Promise me that you'll cry more.

Yes you are a nobby as onions are 90% water whether they come from a supermarket or straight out of your garden. How can you compare an onion to bacon. Twit. :man:

It's only cheap if you buy tons of it, and it usually ends up mostly thrown out, which means it is effectively usual price with lots of waste. Like this deal is great if you have a Hot Dog Van. But for a household of 3, I couldn't possibly use 80% of the onions.

I wonder how you store it as I only get 5kg bags of potatoes and 4kg bags of onions and still some of it get spoilt. Want to share your secret?

Wow what a great price, I agree if stored properly they will last. Im a fan of red onions otherwise I would be tempted. Great deal though heat from me.

Red onions are always expensive than the white ones....and I am not sure why - costs the same to grow, yields the same and its not that there is anything different other than the taste and colour.
