Down from £1.99 to £0.75 and now to £0.50. Definitely incomparable to those Energizers or Duracells but for the price they're good companions to the toy gifts perhaps.

Been this price for a long time now but good to remind people with Christmas coming up. The larger 8 packs are just 95p. They're good batteries too, not like the pound shop ones.

Could you be more specific, or was that just a sweeping generalisation?
Poundshop sells a range of batteries. Xtralife ones are highly rated as are the Wilko Powerplus Extra, at that price. Do some research before making such sweeping statements.

Same price or even cheaper in pound shops. Available all the time ...

These are alkaline batteries, and personally I haven't seen packs of more than 8 of these in a pound shop. Usually you only get packs of 6 alkaline batteries in pound shops. The huge battery packs in pound shops usually contain zinc carbon batteries which contain much less power.

Wilkinsons also do a pack of 8 batteries for 95p. I don't know how they compare to the poundland Kodak alkalines though that are £1 for 6. Those batteries compare well with standard energisers and duracells. I don't know if these wilko one's will last as long.

Good batteries, with super value for money. Excellent battery comparison summary here :-
They have been this price for ages, and in my store you get 10% off so they are 45p. I normally just pick up 2x 60 packs of cheap ones for £5 though, from discount stores.
