How does this work, does it just detect *all* wifi SSIDs and rebroadcast them all? i.e. plug n play, or do you have to connect it up to a laptop, select the SSID etc.....does anyone know?
Thanks

Helped someone with another tp link extender and the configuration was done by connecting a PC to it with an Ethernet cable and going to its internal webpage to change settings.

In my opinion these extenders don't provide a reliable connection. I had one and after a few minutes the connection between the extender and the main router would just "timeout". Hot for the price but better money spent if got one of those extenders that use your existing electricals to create a network and boast a wifi point.

I have one of these, initially it was problematical, it would connect then wouldn't let me onto the net even though it showed an excellent signal. updated firmware, and all OK since. never had a problem after that. at that price a steal.

Useful if you're friend with your neighbour in the flat next door/upstairs and you only want to pay for one internet connection between you.

Got one from Amazon a while back, does need unplugging and repluggin every few weeks. Re signal is really strong and in fact my router is in middle room, extender in attic, all devices including extender get really low signal, yet in front room extenders signal is stronger than the main router in middle room!
