might just get this after I finish the 3rd lord of the rings book

I only recently read them after having wanted to for many years. They are written with a very traditional Western Christian view on the world and today many of the things in the story comes across as fairly xenophobic, in my opinion, combined with a benevolent Saviour. I loved the idea, but the above themes became more and more obvious over time and made it almost unbearable for me to read (to a child) at the end. Great price though, so no cold.
