I think its ridiculous that people will download a 20gb demo to play a couple hours but your free to do as you like its just funny that some will spend more time downloading the "trail" than they will get to play. I dont see how the thread was not deleted nevermind how its got so much heat.... Your not actually getting anything so wheres the deal ?

I think videogamer summed this game up perfectly, when they said for the first few hours it's the best game ever, but there doesn't seem to be any substance once the initial "holy **** I am literally on hoth" factor has worn off.

There is not many people who disagree that it is content light, the season pass is a essential purchase and from Colombia it make it £47 for Game and season pass....
Now once the Embargo is over you know and I know there will be lots of positive reviews as well, one should never base a video game purchase on what other people say in the media, you should know that...(unless it is overwhelmingly negative by everyone) I get that lots of people are angry that EA/Dice have hidden large swathes of the game behind a paywall, but alas there it is, no one forces anyone to buy it
Kind of a shallow gameplay but has amazing immersion. The season pass is a joke though!

This game is class as an FPS, Star Wars and Battlefront fan. Been waiting since number 2 on PS2 for this to get realeased never thought it would see the light of day. Couldn't care less for no campaign, it's Battlefront.. Not Battlefield. Adding an 8hr single player story would've just been a waste of resources to me

Well firstly he has done a in-depth based on a few hours  also any reviewers who attended the EA preview is under embargo, so be very cautious of any reviews that come out before the embargo is over as they will likely be clickbait
Also longevity is subjective, seriously who really plays a game for years anymore? if you got 20 hours entertainment out of it for £40, that is £2 a hour, not really that bad hey! and if you sold it after that 20 hours for £20 it is a £1 a hour!
Try not being so negative, if you want a game that you will play everyday for hours and hours you want a MMO or DOta or something like that..

They've really perfected their milking strategy.
- Sell the base game for borderline exorbitant prices.
- offer early access to day 1 DLC for pre-order sales.
- Give competitive advantage from leveling up
- Sell early access via a secondary subscription service, to allow players to get ahead of the curve on earning XP.
- Sell a deluxe edition that skips XP requirement for certain items.
- Sell season passes that contain DLC maps. Maps that will cause fragmentation & hasten the decline of the player base. The purpose being to encourage 'premium' players to move onto the next 'big thing' in a year's time.
- After which point they'll 'generously' make all the DLC free to bolster 2nd-wave sales to tightwads & skinflints.
They've successfully turned customers into nothing more than cows at a milking parlor; the only difference being you have to feed cows before you milk them.

Welcome to the games industry of the 21st century. EA isn't doing anything different from the vast majority of other games companies. However the main difference between your cows and gamers analogy is that the cows have no choice.
The bottom line is YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY THE GAMES!

I don't think the people (like myself) who're disappointed by the lack of a campaign really care about longevity, they just wish there was a mode which emphasised the cinematic atmosphere of the source material more than the moment-to-moment hectic fun of multiplayer. It's always nice to have both, particularly if the game is based on iconic imagery that for once would make a short single player story worthwhile.

Deluxe:
Included in the “deluxe” edition (you’ll understand the quotes in a moment) are the following items:
DL44 blaster – as made famous by Han Solo
Ion Grenade
Ion Torpedo
Ion Shock (exclusive emote)
Victory (exclusive emote)
The first three items on the list (the blaster, the grenade, and the torpedo) aren’t exclusive. They are listed as “instant access,” indicating that you can unlock them through normal play (confirmed to us by EA).
That leaves two purely cosmetic items separating the standard edition from the “deluxe” version. Instead of simply including these things for pre-orders (as has become common), EA is charging $10 for them.
Ultimate:

Change the option for game to trial (or all). Sort by most recently updated - should be the first one.
Or, search for the game in the marketplace & you should have an option to download a trial.
lordhaggis
12 Nov 15#72
I did that and it only came up the the preorder game not the trial... I will try again..

Some require VPN, Hungary and the US is one of the territories that don't.
I purchase from Hungary/US/Brazil(need to use gift cards for this region due to requiring a Social security number if paying by card)/Singapore/Colombia etc

It's in deals section because it requires a paid subscription , downloading now can't wait until my preorder arrives really liked the beta

I can buy direct from Hungary, but they've stopped it from US/India now & I cant be bothered faffing with gift cards.

I paid £51 for the ultimate season pass edition & £15 to renew my EA Access through the colombia Xbox store.
Used VPN & a Travelex Supercard. Game even unlocks 2 days early for me :o)
Already Rank 6 - finding the dogfighting levels up quite quickly as the games are short & big bonus if you dont die

I have played bf2, 3 and 4. Also most of the CODs.
I have never ever tried doing the campaign as I much prefer the multiplayer.
I tried campaign in BF hardline, that is just pure pony.
BubaMan
12 Nov 152#60
BF4 campaign was completely forgettable, BFHL campaign was so dull, I stopped playing after an hour...
Why complain about a "missing" game mode when the life of this game is clearly in multiplayer mode?
Pick up a copy of KotOR or TFU if multiplayer is not your thing.

12 Nov 15#46
I too was disappointed that there was no single player and the Beta I found fairly crap to be honest. It's a real shame that games like CoD have pretty much ruined the FPS Genre for games because all I saw were people running and gunning. Battlefield wasn't about that aspect but more of the tactical side of things yet people were still dumb and interested in kills only. It will be ruined when Battlefront comes out which is a real shame because I was looking forward to it but now with Fallout 4 being released I decided to cancel my order and wait until it goes down in price.
davemhaynes to BigMoab
12 Nov 15#48
Try the full game trial and decide. Running around the forest shooting at speeder bikes and Princess Leia ... what's not to like lol
BubaMan to BigMoab
12 Nov 15#53
Battlefield 4 has been recently modified to give much higher rewards for objectives than those for kills... which makes for much more interesting games.
As the same people are involved for this, I'm hoping that logic will be applied to Battlefront

You get 10% off the full game if you've got EA Access too - and that can be the only part of this that would be considered a "Deal". Having access to games isn't a deal, it's something you've paid for when you bought a sub to EA Access.
This site is weird sometimes.

I'm not normally into multiplayer games but this really is brilliant if you're a Star Wars FPS fan. Sure I would have loved a campaign, but there are single player missions which you can play to get you up to speed with the MP.
I'm playing this on a mates XBOne now. If you're a Star Wars fan but avoiding this as you're not an MP fan then you're missing out on something really special.

You won't be getting Battlefront as a full game for a loooooooooong time. 6 months? Absolutely no chance I'm afraid.
EmperorRosko
12 Nov 15#5
Single player campaign should have been added. As far as the beta went, I couldn't see any real progression, the weapons were all just laser blasters of differing damage and fire rates, no real difference in their handling.
I think it's expensive to ask for a full game price then a season pass on top of that, when games like Black Ops 3 offer, campaign, deep multiplayer, and zombies for the same price.
this one will be bargain bucket purchase for me, which I don't think will be long.

Opening post
Play 10 hours trial of the full game (19.5GB storage space required) from today. Free if you already have EA Access app, but yes its £3.99 for a month access or £19.99 for a year subscription to EA Access. Downloadable through EA access app on console. Link is to xbox store page. Will always be free!! Decide for yourself.

It should be around £13.47 from Hungary - same principle as this guide.
Now once the Embargo is over you know and I know there will be lots of positive reviews as well, one should never base a video game purchase on what other people say in the media, you should know that...(unless it is overwhelmingly negative by everyone) I get that lots of people are angry that EA/Dice have hidden large swathes of the game behind a paywall, but alas there it is, no one forces anyone to buy it
As cheap as £13 a year from other marketplaces.

The bottom line is YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY THE GAMES!

Not crappy CoD 4 hour campaigns.
EDIT ... And all the flying vehicles can be played in cockpit view too <3:sunglasses:
If you can't find it, try via the Xbox website. That's what I did.
Love it. Glad I preordered it now.
Riding Speeder Bikes, flying Snow Speeders and X-Wings and strangling rebel scum using the force....
Single player campaigns are a waste of disc space, programming time and effort in games such as these.
Deleted & downloading to the internal HDD to see if that makes a difference... Anyone else playing from USB / with appalling load times?
The majority can be completed in a weekend and then you cant be bothered replaying it anytime soon.
But when I converse with said people I will be sure to check me gremmer...ok with you?
The dog fight mode is quite good as well
Or is it that it's "free"?... You need EA Access to qualify which puts it in the Deals section.
Can't actually remember the last time I properly played an actual campaign on this genre of game. I always tend to head straight for online multiplayer!
Pre-ordered, if I don't enjoy the trial (which I will be amazed if I don't....) then I cancel the order and don't lose any money!

However so many people have no idea about this game. I dont know where they have bern for the past 12 months.
These are likely people that don't game very often, and are simply caught in the current Ep7 hype machine.
Right, on my to do list later. Ordered a physical card as well, can I withdraw funds from an ATM then abroad with zero fee's ?
How does the convert work. Do you need to convert cash before its used online, or just if withdrawing abroad ?
I've got a VPN, not sure if Columbia is on the list, but I bet US is !
What address did you use to set up the MS Columbia account for the card ? Your own address with a Columbian city/post code ?
Drop me a PM if you sign up, I think we get a free fiver if recommended.
Thanks for sharing though, Aeschylus. I'll read more into it.
No doubt in my mind it will rake in the money, but I can be fairly sure that plenty of copies of this game will hit the shelves of CEX within 3/4 weeks.
Googling.....
Tried purchasing from Hong Kong, Columbia & Hungary today !
Thinking of cancelling my £35 Amazon pre-order and going digital...
Ultimate:
Season pass
