Depends on your Internet connection and your router really.

It should be fine if you have a decent internet connection. Also having the PS4 connected to the router and the PSTV connected wired via the internet. If both can not connect to the router by wire then next best thing is a pair of homeplugs.
Same goes for PS NOW. If you want to buy this for PS NOW make sure you can connect it for the router via wire or at the very least homeplug.

Providing your PS4 is wired to your router, you'll be fine. If all devices are wireless though, you'll have issues imo.

Yes there is lag, sometimes unacceptably so, I was playing super meat boy streamed from my PS4 upstairs to downstairs via ethernet cable, using my Asus RT-AC68U (Great router) and quite honestly, if you try playing a fast moving game like that where reaction time is key, you won't have much fun. (also almost missed some key presses in until dawn because of this)
I did enable in the settings to have it set to fastest option, maybe I will try QoS setting in my router, but seriously it isn't great... Playable but not great especially as it is only compressed 720p and there is definitely controller lag.
Edit: Basically, if you are thinking of playing online fps etc, I wouldn't hold out much hope, but I picked one of these up for £25 in asda the other week, for the deal price it is worth it.

If it's all on his LAN, why would that matter?

YouTube support was discontinued but should be accessible via browser, it never had Netflix.

Whats the range of the PS4's wifi? Doesn't it connect to this device using that? Like you can with the vita?
I actually quite like it, playing Destiny and there didn't look like there was much lag but the controller to me didn't feel as responsive, still pretty impressive if you would use it in a different room. I already have a vita but if you don't this is a great way to get your ps plus vita games also! remember you'll have to buy a stupidly expensive sd card too

the Wifi has decent range but playing over wifi its very laggy, ive just recently connected via powerline adapters and its alot better but playing online is no good

The input lag is real

I'd rather have it brand new for only 4 quid more

I mainly use this for games that does not need fast input when remote-playing from ps4.
Games such as Diagaea 5 etc perfect, input lag won't affect your game at all. Also bonus for playing some of my Vita games on the big screen too easily and simple

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but are you playing your vita games on your ps4 controller on the big screen, or do you use the Vita as a controller and don't use it's own screen?

PSTV in its honest shape only has two ways it could go:
1) Use it as a remote play device for PS4.
2) Use it for PSP and PS1 games.
I went for number two than number one (ain't joking around) because it unlocked a whole awesome new part of PSTV and allows to play infinite amount of games. As long as you have space on your card.

Don't update it and use the email hack to enable more games to be compatible. Wipeout on big screen is great.

So have they patched that exploit now? Does that mean you can't sync your trophies?

Good to know hackers found a way to play Vita games on PSTV.
Btw, both of my PSTVs are on 3.20 and I'll never update their firmwares because it's too good to go to waste and I bought them precisely because of the 3.20 OFW (it allows to play all PS1 games flawlessly).

Seriously thinking about getting it.

I doubt there's much difference, if it's second hand I could imagine it's had very little use. mine was in perfect condition. you'll probably get the three free games new but I already had them all

This is the sweet point for me price-wise. I have a few Vita games that I've been wanting to play and for this cost, I'll jump in.

You can use the ps4 and ps3 controller for Vita games. And ps4 controller only on ps4 games remote play. I never tried using my Vita as a controller for the PSTV. So not 100% sure about that but I don't think so

Can someone please explain to me what this is? I'm assuming it's google chrome cast ? ( but for PlayStation ) and see Sony have now stopped itv player access and tv catchup making people buy this
Stefarno88 to mattyh333

It's basically a Vita in a box for use with a TV.
The Vita never had a Netflix app in Europe.

It's a Vita without touchscreen. You can use this to play any PS1 and PSP games plus more Vita games too (though those who're interested in hacking the device it's usually only for PS1/PSP). With that said, PSTV is usable as a remote play device but even an Android device can do this, I think.

Vitaupdate blocker stopped working last week. :disappointed:. You may be able to put the game and mem cards in a vita and sync that way. Not sure... I need to do it myself as well.

Did you insert the correct IP on your Vita?

Lol yeah. It worked a charm until last week. Yours still working? I was running it on a Pi on Rasbian.

It could've been usable to play PS1 games if it had 3.20 OFW.

Just became aware of it as I read it on HUKD so no, not yet.
