Cheap for a TV this size, and it is a Sony. No, it isn't curved or 4K, but it has everything else. Apparently genuine reduction of £430. Get another 3.03% off with TopCashback (ends In 4 Days). That's a further discount of £62.
John Lewis list this at £2,299.00, but have no stock, so I don't suppose they will price match.
Not many reviews online, but on Amazon, two reviewers claim the picture quality is superior to a 60" LG Plasma screen.

Old tech, my Panasonic VT65 65" still blows away 99% of the TVs out there now and it's 1080p.

Why would you pay so much for 70" screen tv, I got ex school projector £40, lg soundbar 160w £80 plus big blank wall 70" plus screen , granted no 3d but for saving of £1900 approx I can live with that, beer money while watching films and sport on big screen

It is possible to have a lot of money and still be sensible. Why not spend it on whatever you want? Personally, I spend very little money on cars, buying cheap secondhand runabouts. My Micra cost me £200 five years ago and has never missed a beat. Others pay enormous amounts for their rides, and post the deals in here. I probably spend more time in front of the telly than I do driving. Your mileage may vary.

Why is that ? Some people can afford such items but like to get the best deal possible, no matter what the price is.
It's not a site for paupers, it's for getting value for your money (however much that may be).

I could say the same for 4k, as I can't get landline broadband at all out here in the countryside, and have to rely on satellite, which has a lot of issues with streaming. I have only just got a blu-ray player, and two disks for it. Ordinary DVDs upscale fine to my 50 inch plasma, and were great on the 65 inch too, before it developed a fault and had to go back. I don't believe that Sony and other major manufacturers would make a 75 inch TV in 1080p if it didn't provide a good viewing experience.
you_gotta_be_kidding
19 Nov 15#34
you've missed the point, I'm not saying this set is bad, or any other 1080p set for that matter. my TV right now is 1080p. but given all new respectable models now released are 4k you can't argue this is current spec. this is a big TV and would benefit hugely with 4k. no point waiting for 8k since our broadband would need huge leaps to support streaming

Totally disagree, Sony used to begreat, then went totally crap but since putting Android in it's TV's the tech has finally cought up with it already great picture quality. Problem with this is it's a year out of date.

2016 is the year of 4K. Sony have already announced over 400 titles would be released on 4K bluray, Many other movie companies have announced similar, 4K bluray players have already hit $69 in the US so will be under £50 in the UK very soon, not to mention PS4 for netflix, Amazon TV, hulu and bluray.
Sky has announced 30% of it's HD channels will be 4K in Q1 2016 (Although not all it's boxes will support it, so you will likely need a new sky box, I have the new 2TB one which is confirmed to work) and it's new service Sky Q is already 4K enabled.
If you're gonna spend £2k on a TV, especially one this size then it MUST be 4K IMO. I know if I'd bought this next year I'd want to upgrade to 4K.
Cold from me, old tech, should be £800 max.

I am not rich enough to spend £2,000 on a TV every couple of years ..and IMHO I think two years from now there will be much content provided in 4K.

18 Nov 15#13
Fair point, but I expect most people will have waited for colour to become mainstream (and colour sets to be the right money) before they bought one. I'm not saying that 4K will NEVER be relevant, it just isn't yet.

Yeah that was my concern as well. 75 inches is a a huge step-up in viewable real estate from say a 55 or 60 incher. 1080p may be a bit too much of a stretch at this size.
Still a fantastic deal for a TV which doubles up as a proper projector.
