Dedicated STALKER gamers have made a number of upgrades for this fantastic series - Google them. Sadly, the develpers are not working on any further Single Player episodes of STALKER, preferring instead, to cater to the immature Multi Player game format.

Actually the multiplayer game (Survarium) is made by a different studio made up of some of the former STALKER developers. The studio that made STALKER actually reopened this year and is almost certainly working on STALKER 2. There's interviews floating about that talk about this and it most definitely will be a single player focused game (although might have a multiplayer mode like these older games did).

One of the greatest gaming series ever created.
The most recent update of Lost Alpha for Shadow of Chernobyl is the definitive version for me.

I know for most games companies nowadays the multiplayer side of things is where money is, but it's amazing how most games companies are cutting short on the single player gaming experience...we're seeing less of games like stalker, metro, dishonored and the like becoming less prevalent...

SP doesn't make them the money, as solely SP games are pirated. MP games are pirated but the MP experience isn't the same as you're locked out of the official optimised servers with the most people on them. Fallout 4 is coming out, which should be one of the best SP games in existence, so they're still coming out.

Always wanted these, which mods do people recommend for these games?

Sounds great. I do hope it becomes reality and not just another rumour of SP Stalker vapourware. Stalker was (and still is) a gem of a trilogy and I'd love to take a fresh trip back into the zone without having to fight off 10 year old idiots with reactions 1,000's of times faster than mine.

Nice! I got the original game for free with my 2GB 4870 when I built my current PC in 2008. A bit of a coincidence because I've just ordered the parts for a new rig today. It's going to be my VR machine next year!

Started Shadow of Chernobyl a few weeks back - harrowing and challenging game. For as confusing as it was at the beginning, this game definitely grew on me. Worth the pennies.
