Just booked a quick trip to Marseille with Ryanair, depart Stansted 0650 Sat 30 Jan, return Sun 31 Jan 1455 for £25 - or you can do the Sat flight and return 1455 Monday 1 Feb for even less at £20.
One night away with flights and accomm is priced from £40pp or two nights from £50pp at the reasonably rated City Residence in central Aix -en-Provence for £29 per room per night (£15 each) on hotels.com or at Appart'City Euromed in Marseille at £32 (£16 each) at onhotels.
Don't forget to use a discount code or go via topcashback or quidco for cashback on the hotel.
Both cities are 30-odd mins from the airport by bus or train with transfers around €8 each way.
I haven't decided whether to stay in Aix or Marseille yet...
Prices are amazing, shame not my airport else I couldn't resist. Hot. :man:

Obviously never been there! Is anything but a dump the seafront is an exceptionally sophisticated area and after the pedestrianisation of a lot of the marina is a great place to be. Nothing wrong with Toulon either. Yet another post
by a Ryanair knocker!

I went to Toulon a few years back and that was a dump and apparently Marseille is ten times worse. Would personally give it a wide berth

Avignon is only 30 minutes drive north and is very nice.

Actually, we go to Provence reasonably regularly and was just in Marseille last year. I'm not sure who in their right mind would think Marseille would be better than any other city in Provence, but hey, some people have low standards.
And yes, Ryanair is crap. Again, it's a standards thing.

Why do you call it a dump?
