I got one and spent a while configuring things.
My pc only has hdmi 1.4, 4k 30hrz would do me for photo editing and things look nice but major lag in computer mode and over sharpning, game mode drops the color sampling down from 4:4:4 so you get faster responce (still slow though) and color artifacts around thin high contrast areas but no sharpening halos.
Tried the ps4, lag again... I couldn't game on this thing which is a shame as I love my philips 1080p ambilight.
Think I'll have to return it.

Is 4k noticeably better on a 40 inch or should I just go for a 1080p model in that size?

So any idea who makes Philip's TVs for them?

Hummm, Or old telly has a bunch of dead pixels in the middle of the screen so was looking to replace it, this looks interesting but the lag thing is worrying as I do play a lot of games....having said that I have no idea what it is on my current set. (Samsung 40" LCD something or other).

This even beats Richer Snouds, where this is £399 at the moment.
I'm put off by the AVForums review about the dual core CPU struggling with Android TV. Also by the fact that it's not a Philips made panel and probably some rebadged cheap make.

Panel will be LG supplied and will be built by TPV (most will know them from AOC monitors)

I had told myself that I would buy a 4K (or even 8K) until I could get an OLED one at a reasonable price, but this was quite a steal so I couldn't resist.
Justified it to myself by figuring I shall get this as an interim TV for the next few years and I can probably make about half the price back on my 2012 Panasonic as well.
Sounds not the best after coming from a Viera Plasma, but great with soundbar. Android and Kodi runs well + 4k youtube and Netflix is impressive. I also managed to program my Virgin Tivo remote ok, the reviews said it wasn't possible, really easy to do. The 4 x HDMI and 3 x USB are also a bonus.

my telly is 8ms anything much higher and you'll be struggling, the lowest gaming monitor I've seen is 1 or 2ms.

The link in the first post has a good review of the 50", looks to be exactly the same other than screen size.

Ahh didn't notice that!
Had my eye on a 1080p for the bedroom and wasn't thinking about 4K personally.

Input lag 60+ms counts me out. Good enough if you're not an online gaming nut though.

I think the Ambilight version for £100 more sounds like it has a faster processor and only registered 33ms lag.
If in the input lag is that much of a concern then its highly unlikely that you would be using a TV as a monitor. Besides we don't know the "ms" for the 40" version.
