It is an LED light so it stays cool to the touch. Have ordered one of each type for my boys as a stocking filler.
I have this for my little girl and its not that great for price I paid - £8 The batteries don't last long, a few days was all we got. It takes 3 LR44 which aren't that easy to get a hold of. Not bad for £3.99 if you can get it and order a 20 pack of cheap batteries off Amazon for a quid.
