So have they been to glucose syrup? Is that why they are no longer sugar puffs?

They probably changed the name due to the recent anti-sugar crusade by the media and public health groups possibly affecting sales and brand image.
Glucose syrup is essentially pure sugar anyway so even if they did change the recipe, the amount of sugar would be about the same.

They named them sugar puffs after the war when sugar was a luxury that had been rationed. Now sugar is considered the worst thing you could give your kids, so they changed it.

They felt it necessary to ditch the word "Sugar"

The health Stasi are out in force again. Whatever happened to personal choice and responsibility. I like Sugar puffs but eat them sparingly as a treat. I don't want, need or appreciate endless lectures from jumped up little dictators.
End of rant. I'd better go and see what the kids are doing in the shed where I keep my pesticides and chain saws

We'll see what happens to " personal choice and responsibility" when the privatisation of NHS is completed

The trouble is that 'Personal Choice and Responsibility' often don't go together - you only have to look at the plump crisp eaters who wash down their cream buns with full fat coke and then relax with a post meal fag and expect the rest of society to foot their hospital bill by way of taxes when they are stretchered in with a heart attack. I am not a health nazi - I just don't want to pay for other peoples excesses! - End of MY rant! I am off to see if the kids have rewired the house properly.
