Searching for a circa £500 Tv and found this after seeing it on Amazon & Richer Sounds for around £650 (though without the latter's 6 year guarantee). Seems to have good reviews so may take the plunge
Also found the LG 49 UF770v for £579 at appliance electronics which seems a better TV (£699 @ Richer Sounds) but don't think I will use the better smart apps as getting Nvidia Shield.
If you don't mind a refurb set Rakuten have this set available through Electrical deals for £459 when you add Octpayday code at checkout - + 2495 points (£24 worth?) thanks to Iceboy for this - voucher code runs out 30/10

I haven't tried retuning the satellite channels but will give it a go. My understanding is the the tv has a satellite receiver, not a freesat receiver. It will find the available channels and then store them in no particular order.
Hi,
Freesat is just software that uses the satellite tuner. Ee went from the crappy non-sorted version to Freesat on the same TV but unless you retune I doubt you'd know it was there.

Make sure your LG has the latest OS which is v4 on mine, LG are the first company to retrospectively add Freesat. If you have the latest version you should have access to the Freesat EPG etc.
Ok, so you picked up on a couple of errors in my post. I used to do that to my wife but in the end the back of my head was so sore I just could take no more.
Whether the tv has a satellite tuner, decoder whatever you wish to call it I can tell you that it has so much significance as an important factor to LG that they completely fail to list it has a satellite input within their technical features and specification on their website. That is for both the posted model (49UF675V) and mine (50LB650V). It should be listed under the jack pad rear section but it isn't.
The main fact is that it can receive satellite signals and list the channels in the order it finds them. It only has the facility to view what is on now and next in the tv guide unlike sky and some other satellite receivers. The fact that the tv can receive satellite signals could be a plus point for those who have ditched or are wanting to ditch sky. Those people like me will be disappointed with LG's attempt at supplying us with a satellite input. Not because of the lack of a 7 day EPG but the inability to store the channels in the correct format similar to freeview and sky. You can change individual channels to suit but it is a long drawn out process.
The facts may have been incorrect but the point is still there and therefore it would be best to go and view this for yourself if you can find a seller who will demonstrate it for you. For anyone with sky or a decent satellite tuner it won't be an issue.
As for Sony and Youview I did say that 'I read somewhere' which was true from quite a while ago now. Sony tv's should have had it in the summer but was delayed. Evidentially it is due the day after tomorrow on some models.

Now and next is standard for a satellite distribution signal, it is all the information that they carry. What you are complaining it doesn't have is a full blown EPG but these luxuries rarely come for free! Both Freesat and Sky charge broadcasters to appear on their EPG's and in return they manage the program listings for them. Freesat charge manufacturers to use their programming guide too but Freesat is only for the UK and the tuner in this set is for worldwide use where not every market is used to a full blown EPG hence the reason LG don't make a big song and dance about it in their UK literature and marketing in the UK. The market for none Sky satellite in the UK is tiny and those that are in the market for it tend to be very tech savvy folk running Linux based boxes and motorised dishes not buyers of domestic TV:s
Please learn about the whys and what nots before you complain about a feature, the Satellite tuner works perfectly OK, it simply just doesn't and will never do what YOU hoped it might.

You're incorrect with your information. It DOES have a tuner hence why you're seeing channels. What it doesn't have is an EPG which the likes of Freesat charge manufacturers to use.

Spec says dvb-s2 tuner so with the latest firmware update this should give FreeSat so a good price for a 49" Freesat TV. On a down side Our LG doesn't have ITVplayer or all4.

Just be careful on the sat spec. I bought an LG 50LN650v in January. One of the reason I bought it as I was told it had a satellite tuner and could plug it into my old sky dish and receive satellite channels. It can receive satellite channels but it doesn't have a tuner. Now I may have been a bit ignorant here because I am thinking it has a satellite socket on the tv I can get the channels. Well yes I can but it doesn't have a tuner, it just has the capability of receiving the channels and what happens then is it places the channels in a random order. So channel 1 isn't BBC. BBC1 is something like channel 64 and BBC channel 83 etc etc. The tv stores the channels in the order it finds them. It's awful. For the sake of 30 quid or so why didn't lg put a proper tuner in.
Also the satellite isn't listed under inputs where you would expect to find it. You access it through the tv guide menu. I guess the designer was having a breakdown or something when LG came up with this. It's awful. Go to Currys or Richer Sounds and ask for a demo of any LG tv if the satellite input is a must.
Only samsung have all the players. If you want an LG or Sony tv but want all the players as well then look on ebay for a talk talk youview box, DN370t, DN371t or DN372t. It has iplayer, itv player, all 4, demand 5, netflix, now tv, milkshake, uktv play, sky store, quest, S4C. I paid £60.00 for mine brand new. Oh, I forgot to mention it records as well. Twin tuner HD with pause, rewind. You won't be disappointed and it will make any smart tv like it should be, a proper smart tv because without all the players you haven't got a full smart tv unless you bought Samsung. I deliberately haven't mentioned Panasonic which have Freetime on some models which is similar to Youview. I think I read somewhere that some Sony tv's now have the Youview tuner. Now that's an interesting combination.
If you have a bigger budget then look at the BT Youview DTR-2100 made by Humax.

The UF675 doesn't support HDMI 2.0, Smart+ powered by webOS, no 4k netflix.
Waste of time on a 4k which you won't get much use out of except poor upscaling ability. You might as well buy a 1080p tv.

Specs from LG says it doesn't have WebOS 2.0 and it doesn't have HEVC decoder built-in so you won't be able to stream Netflix UHD 4K with this set
4K streaming is available on the next model up, the UF770 range, which is why it's more expensive Your text here
Be careful when buying 4K TVs, if you want to stream 4K UHD content, it has to have HEVC (Netflix/Amazon Prime) or VP9 (Youtube) decoder built-in or you would have to buy a decoding unit.

I bought this TV a few weeks back from the DABS deal:
One important thing to note is that this TV is NOT a smart TV in any way. It doesn't have wifi and the ethernet port on the back is only for software updates. I had to buy a fire stick so I could use Netflix and Kodi.
Macamask - You must have a different TV because I definitely have this one and it doesn't have webOS 2.0. I've also updated the firmware to the most recent version and that didn't add any Smart functionality.

Haha, yes I know. But the point I was trying to make was that I had said something earlier that was incorrect. Admitted to it and amended it. Such a shame that our politicians both in central and local government cannot do the same. I worked for somebody once who said to admit you are wrong is an act of weakness. What a total plonker. Now am ranting on about bloody politics and best go to bed or will have rants about the poll tax, council tax, insurance premium tax, the pastie tax and vat on take away food......damn there I go. Let's hope the blue b*ggers don't see how much tv's are going for on here or we will soon see a tv purchase tax......oh no, I have given them another way to exploit more money from the not so well off.

I saw the LG 49UF770V in Currys yesterday. Absolutely amazing picture. Far better than any other near it. I know it's in demo mode or playing the stores HD loop but you can still see the difference compared to the cheaper ones. Incidentally it was next to the Panasonic 4k CX400, you know the one made by Vestel. The picture on the Panasonic fake was terrible.
