If your of a 'certain age' this is what Bike lights look like.....:stuck_out_tongue:

I ride and drive *shock* and see idiots with both sets of commuters. But to the car drivers please remember if you hit me on a bike there is a good chance you'll kill me!! And to the cyclists if you disobey the rules of the road and get hit, there is a good chance you'll die!!

When i was a kid, bike lamps were either eveready or pifco... And coppers ragged you if you had neither!
But traffic was a lot lighter... Less teens on their dads insurance, and uninsured dicks.

I remember those lights from when I was a paper boy (50 years ago). The front one cost about 7/6 andthe rear one was about 11/3.I nearly knocked out a clown on a bike last week.It was dark ,cold and raining the oaf had a black bike and dark clothes luckily he was stupid enough to be wearing shorts and I saw his legs.

Erm, lights like these get people hurt. They think "oh, I've got lights. Should be fine. Motorists ought to see me." And they complain when they get hit.
Lights are a safety element of a bicycle. You shouldn't skimp on safety elements.

Yes, you are right - if you are serious about cycling, or even commuting, by all means get quality lights.
However, even these are better than nothing, and certainly ok as a backup. You can never have enough lights and reflectors.
The real problem is cyclists with no lights or reflectors in black clothes why still think that they have right of way and therefore everybody should magically see them.

Well as a cyclist id like drivers to obstacles the law, I see at least 20 drivers texting/using mobile phones every day!
Which goes to show whatever form of transportation you use some people are just idiots

Lol, why do drivers and cyclists hate each other so much? As a pedestrian, I think you're both mental.

Well as a driver I'd like cyclists to obey the law and not jump red lights - while driving through London last week I thought I'd count how many my dashcam caught at it.................Result - 17 in 64 minutes.

worth a punt but only if you check your lights before using them. I see so many cyclists who have really dim lights where the batteries need charging or in some cases the lights need chucking. I cycle to work 1 day a week at the moment, always test my light visibility before I set off.

Honestly. Do you think that there is a better chance of you being safer in the roads, at night, in the dark, with no lights?

You can pick up lights this cheap, yet there's still loads of idiots who don't bother with lights.
